Tales from the Gas Station

I grew up on a little franchise called Evil Dead. It was what bonded me and my stepdad, along with a love for the MCU Iron Man films. Horror-Comedy is probably my favorite genre in film, with such a wide range it’s crazy. Tales from the Gas Station brings me back to when I was sat watching Evil Dead to Army of Darkness, bonding with a guy I miss terribly. Just so funny, definitely scary at plenty points, and surprisingly heartfelt. Love this to bits, thanks Jack.

If you like horror comedy, odds are you will love this book. Hilarious, dark, and creative, it put me to the edge of my seat! The only thing that drove me crazy was how many questions left unanswered, but I’m hoping they will be resolved soon!

The story was fantastic, definitely going to get the next one. Slightly annoying however that in the 4 days it took me to read the book, the clear plastic coating on the cover is peeling up. Just kind of a bummer. Other than that, absolutely worth the read.

I fell in love listening to MrCreepyPasta read this series and I knew I had to read the books for myself. I'm excited to read the details I haven't already heard and to reimagine the points I've listened to ten times over. Jack and Jerry are the best duo!If you're looking for a series with amazingly written comedy and "edge of your seat" suspense, take a chance and visit the gas station on the edge of town. Just remember to "mind your own business"!(The quality of the book condition was pristine, packaged properly, and came sooner than expected!)

This is a super awesome book. I originally started my Jack Townsend journey with, "The Green Night", THAT was a phenomenal book. Many things make more sense now, after reading this first book in the series, but I will be ordering book 2. These appealed to me because I can relate to the hor that is loaded in here, and the character Jack. I designate with 'Marlboro', Jerry. All around, good reads. I like to place lighter books in between my heavy reads, and these deliver. Just buy them already!!!

I kept hoping for something of consequence to happen, but it never did. Characters are paper-thin, development is non-existent, and everything is layered in a sort of lol-random flavor that I couldn't enjoy. Maybe the author was extremely cleverly and deliberately writing an unreliable narrator, or maybe using an unreliable narrator to mask mediocre writing, or more likely I'm an unpleasable wonk on the internet.

The best anti hero? Not a hero? Ordinary guy story I’ve read in a long long time. (See what I did there? I needed some filler.)Not sci-fi, not occult, not fantasy, I’ll let you know what it is when I figure it out.I’m on my way to buy the second book in the series
