Reese Towpower 7014200 Adjustable Tow Bar , Black

I have an older model that I use to flat tow my CJ7 around. This unit is nice because it can be taken down and fit into the back of my Jeep XJ. I keep it with me in case I ever run into any issues, I can have someone come to me with a truck and tow me back home. I run a full custom engine setup, and I'm still testing it out.

Haven't used the product yet still worth waiting to get all the parts do I need for the safety chains that's kind of hard to find 7/16 to grade square u-bolts and have to go get those in the face lately I think it's a good value with Compact and it is easy in to store back into my vehicle when I'm done it doesn't take up a lot of room it's a very good product I hopefully get to use it soon on my my jeep

Towbar includes a little assembly but once you have it together it's a piece of cake to hook up. I tow my lifted Jeep and even at highway speeds 70+ mph there is no slack, movement or anything. Almost like it isn't there at all!

Most likely you must purchase extra adapters to fit your vehicle

Construction it good. It's adjustable which is nice too. My main issue is that it doesn't tell you that an adapter plate is needed to use it. This kit will not just bolt up to the frame rails or bumper mounts. You will have to either buy or fabricate an adapter plate for your specific vehicle vehicle. Luckily I've done metal work in the past so I was able to make my own.

First off, I wanted to note the integrity of this tow bar is up to par. Don't be fooled by incorrect installation. I followed all directions in order and performed a safe tow of my 94 Toyota 4runner behind my 2011 Ford ranger XLT with out any complication. I do recommend the use of lock washers on the connections of the spacer bars to make the entire arm solid as a rock. Other than that be sure to maintain an idle speed and avoid sudden stops and your golden!!

WORTHLESS - when I went to have a company install this on my Honda, they informed me that the manufacturer's safety warnings for this model say "DO NOT exceed 45 mph." I downloaded the instructions and that is what it says, the "DO NOT" is in caps as I have quoted it. I suppose if one has some reason to tow their car around their neighborhood this would work. But I am guessing that most people who need to tow a car need to travel some distance at speeds in excess on 45 MPH. I fear I have thrown away $100.
