Awesome Product
Works great, you can only see the screen from directly in front. even a few degrees to the side and you just see a reflection. It does take some time to get use to viewing through as it does dim the screen a little bit, but not enough to cause any major issues.Pro:Works. 100% works, no more shoulder surfers on airplanes etc.high quality material no really bad glare like with some privacy screens (looks cool too like a space visor!)Multiple viewing angles but only directly in front (think tilting screen forward and backward), side it side is a complete block out!Easy to take on and off for sharing your screen with others if required.Con:The little sticky rails to attach it are kind of hokey but they seem to work. (I noticed them at first but now they melt into the side screen with out issue)Doesn't come with any sort of cover or protector, and its very thin, so I am concerned if I want to remove it for any length of time it may get scratched, and or bent. when traveling I leave it on my screen and place a piece of paper over my keys to keep it from touching my keys and getting marked up (more of a laptop issue than a product issue but worth mentioning). The lack of protector for it is the only reason I gave it one less star.

Fits Acer C720 Chomebook, gold filter works, privacy, comfort and no more spying eyes!
I've wanted a privacy filter for a long time, but I finally saw it on sale and took the plunge and found that it is the most useful computing accessory that I own. And since the technology doesn't exist as an extension/app, I took the plunge and ordered it to resolve my security issues.First of all, buy the gold filter! Sure, it doesn't look like your computer is off as much as the grey, but it's very effective at obscuring text on my screen, and it's pleasant to look at.Quite simply, it works. I have a laptop for home, but carry a 11 inch chromebook to work and class. I was tired of every single person sitting beside me reading my notes, looking at my email either at class or and at the coffee shop. Now, I can have privacy while working and typing emails. You'd think that I'm doing something nefarious, but it's not so--I simply want to type my emails without wandering eyes reading. I can now dim my screen nearly as much as it can go, and 99% of people around me can't read what I'm typing--try it yourself on your own computer. There is, however, a grain-like overlay on my screen now with the protector, but I'd much rather a slightly dimmer screen with a texture than have every single person sitting to either side of me see my screen and read what's on it. And of course someone over my shoulder or directly behind me can see the screen, but I can just check for them, and someone far behind me can't view the actual contents of the text on screen, therefore I'm safe! You can also try blocking the computer screen with your torso(for people behind) or turn the computer at a 10 degree angle as you use it for even more privacy. Also don't make the mistake I made, put the crescent cutout at the bottom of the screen, not the top!(It's less visible there).I am a private person, and this product helps me feel comfortable. It was $26 on amazon prime, and so worth it! Now if only the 13.3 one wasn't twice that price, I'd love to have one for when I do bring my other computer with me for imaging. (There's nothing worse than spying eyes interrupting my Illustrator/Photoshop work.) I refuse to pay $46 for a piece of plastic right now, though...

Privacy at the cost of visibility
If you are a long-time user of 3M's smoke-colored privacy filters, "upgrading" to the Gold Privacy filter may take some adjustment. The most noticeable difference is the visible texture of the film, which shows as very thin, 45-degree lines across the entire screen. Depending on ambient lighting, screen brightness, resolution and viewing distance, this can range from very distracting to barely visible. The "glossy" side of the filter is very reflective, and will be unusable in most brightly-lit spaces, and even the "matte" side of the filter is somewhat reflective, and you will see a reflection of nearby lights. One of the interesting things that may occur over time may be the "patina of use" that will build up (despite cleaning and care) and slowly dull the reflective properties of either side.3M is known for their adhesives, and the plastic tabs they include with the privacy filter do the job if applied properly. You will need to pay close attention to the placement, as poor tab location will result in tabs eventually falling off, either from being constantly abused by repeated removal of the filter, or from the adhesive sticking to the filter instead of the screen bezel. It helps to apply to a surface that has been cleaned thoroughly to remove skin oils left by normal laptop handling.I traveled constantly with my laptop and a 3M privacy filter, and the tabs remained firmly glued for 2 years until the time I traded in the laptop for a newer model. As far as I know, those tabs are probably still working.Keep in mind, unless you want to carry around something in which to store the privacy filter, you'll want to keep the filter on the laptop while it's traveling. This will result in a wear pattern on the filter depending on how close the keyboard is to the filter in the closed position. At minimum, you will pick up a pattern of visible micro-scratches and oil over the course of a year, and once it becomes distracting during regular use, it's time to replace the filter.

it still seemed to be the best around. Needless to say I am far from ...
I did my research before buying this. Despite the divided reviews, it still seemed to be the best around. Needless to say I am far from impressed. Yes, it would probably stop the person next to me on the train/plane from seeing what I am working on. But it still leaves a large viewing angle. I thought only those looking square on would be able to view the laptop, but it is more like a 120 degree viewing angle. Not great. Secondly what really annoyed me was the way it sticks in patches to my LED screen. So much so it distracts me from work. It looks like a badly fitted phone screen protector with 2 dozen air bubbles of different shapes and sizes. Not £40 worth. Not impressed. Not keeping it.

I've used them for years and this gold version is terrific. No one can see what I'm up to
3M screen protectors are without comparison. I've used them for years and this gold version is terrific. No one can see what I'm up to, which is important as I'm a manager who likes to sit with my team bit still get on with sensitive stuff. Traveling on planes and trains while working is a safe to as the viewing angle is minute. I'd buy again.

Clean Picture - Enjoying Half Glossy Screen
... I tried different solutions - providers. Only 3M will give you clean picture and very effective privacy protection. Problem - Mat side is still half glossy. Very enjoying when light is behind you - reflection makes sore eyes. Fixing tapes are ugly and huge for small sized notebook. Buy fixing dots from other provider to keep privacy screen permanently in place and the same time keep your notebook in style..If you need full privacy and at the same time big screen buy rather virtual glasses. Cool for watching movies, conferencing on the go, 100% privacy etc... Privacy screen offers no protection for persons standing or sitting behind you. It offers only partial protection on low light condition. For example your neighbor on the airplane - sleeping time - will guess what you are doing however it will not be able to read text.

Great quality, works exactly as described
Delivered right away, meets all the specifications and works exactly as described. The filter makes the screen look completely black from any angle except the frontal position. From the frontal position, visibility remains unchanged, with no significant decrease in image quality or resolution when the filter is on.Very easy to remove and re-apply. I haven't noticed any issues with the adhesive substance as reported by other users, it keeps working like the first time.
