A must for properly installing rings and scope.
Works well for installing a scope properly. I bought this to install a scope on a Savage LRPV using 2 piece Leupold base/rings. The kit made fast work of aligning the rings and then lapping them in. The levels were also handy for leveling the scope to the rifle. This is a no brainer if you can follow simple instructions. I'm funny about dropping expensive guns and scopes off at just any gunsmith and certainly never would leave it to the hands of the fellas working behind the counter of retail stores because you just don't know what they will end up doing to your equipment. Myself, I want the job done right the first time and the cost of the kit is about what it would cost to have one scope mounted. It take maybe 30 minutes from start to finish to expertly mount a scope using this and you have it for future projects.

A good system
I think this is an excellent product. After lapping you can just feel the scope lays better in the rings. I suggest watching the video to learn proper technique. Apply electrical tape around the handle where it meets the lapping bar as to protect the rings if you slide it too far. I also recommend that you immediately destroy all the clean-up rags that you use to keep from inadvertently wiping down a firearm with a rag that has grinding compound still stuck to it. I used brake parts spray cleaner to clean up afterwards. It takes a bit more force to operate than I expected so you need a vise to anchor the rifle. I use the Tipton Best Gun Vise and it works great. I read several reviews where the poster claims the levels were off, but mine seem right on. I leveled the scope as directed and then moved the vise to where I have a plumb bob hanging and it matched up perfectly.

High quality kit but buyer beware, received a used kit.
This kit makes installing a scope the right way very easy!I won't ding the product for this, it's clearly Amazon or Wheeler but I received a used kit despite paying for a new one. The box was taped. When I opened it, it smelled like something burned, upon closer inspection I saw the blue lock tight has a big burn on the side which smelled. Opening the blue lock tight it was clear it had been used. My guess is someone bought this, used it to mount a scope, somehow managed to burn the blue lock tight, then quickly returned it. Amazon and/or Wheeler then didn't check it was unused.

Scope mounting the way it should be.
Great kit. I recently installed a new new scope with the help of this kit and am very pleased with the results. After watching a few gun dealers install other scopes, I knew that I had to find a better system. This system is not cheap for a kit that I will probably not use frequently, but it is well worth knowing that I have done everything that I could to have a properly installed scope. The scope fit like perfectly. The components are all very well built and the instructions are easy to follow. The only complaint is that the hard plastic case could use a handle. The kit is heavy and it can fool the unprepared.

Good but had issues with the bubble level scope mounting level technique
The only issue I had with this setup was the bubble level-level. Wheeler assumes the adjustment turrets on all scopes are aligned exactly with the cross hairs (reticle). On the scope is used this setup to mount, a Vortex Crossfire II, they were not. I was able to use one the of levels, which is designed to bridge the action, to level the rifle, then used a plumb bob to aligned the crosshairs to the rifle. That worked fine. The lapping setup worked fine as well, though I'm not a fan of having abrasives near my rifle action. I covered the action well, which Wheeler doesn't mention in their online video or written instructions. I gave the kit 3-stars because Wheeler doesn't acknowledge that scope turrets may not be aligned with the crosshairs (reticle). That said, the "action" level designed to bridge the receiver was a god send.

Quality Scope Mounting Kit - I would buy it again.
Bought this kit to mount a previously owned scope on a new rifle. I have often had scope mounting included with the purchase of a new scope. This time I had to decide whether to pay for mounting or do it myself...I chose the latter. Now I can move scopes around on my rifles as I please. I bought this kit because it covered both 1 inch and 30 mm scopes, both of which I own. I watched the online video on MidwayUSA, read the instructions, and easily mounted the scope. I did consider buying the upgraded leveling tool, but ultimately decided to try the one included with this kit. The included is satisfactory for knowing that the scope is level. Depending upon the nature of your rifle action and the scope design, you may have to move the scope leveling tool around a bit. Lapping tools are excellent. The torque driver and bits exude quality. A definite recommend.

Confidence to mount your scopes here
A one-stop-shop for all your scope mounting needs! I now have the ability to precisely mount all my optics and know that they are as level as possible. Even lapping rings that need lapping are very easy. This entire kit allows you to squeeze every drop of accuracy out of your entire optic system. From the base/rail to the rings to the scope itself! I re-did all of my scoped rifles and air rifles when I finally decided to go for this kit. If you own scoped rifle, plan on owning them, or have friends that do, this kit will quickly pay for itself. Great prices and shipping from Amazon as always. Only thing you may run in to is the kit won't have all the driver bits that cover all base and rings set-ups out there.

Great all-inclusive kit - comes with everything you need to ...
Great all-inclusive kit - comes with everything you need to properly lap and mount any optic and a good price. I have used this to mount several scopes in both sizes and have had no issues. The torque driver comes with a calibration sticker, and matches torque with other devices I have, so I was confident each fastener was torqued appropriately. Two levels are included, one with a magnet, but the magnet is rather large and will not fit under an optic using low rings. So if you do not have a flat spot on your receiver you must use a base for the level, then lock it down in a gun vise before mounting rings. Not ideal, but not a big deal - just would be nice to see a thinner magnet with a little more clearance for the rings. Lapping is easy, comes with all of the bits you could possibly need for the driver, and includes lapping compound and thread locker. Makes mounting optics properly very quick and easy.
