great servo
I got 2 of these to replace the stock traxxas 2080 steering servos on 2 1/16 erevos that I have. There are a couple things that I wish I had known before I bought them...but nothing that is Hitec's fault, just that it wasn't made specifically for the erevo. Problem number one, the stock 2080 has the wires coming out of the TOP of the servo while the 85MG they come out of the BACK of the servo making getting the servo into the hole a challenge, but with a little brute force they slipped right in, actually with a little room to spare. Problem number two, the holes in the steering arms that come with the servo are not even close to big enough for the bolts in the steering system on the truck to go through, and the arms from the traxxas servo do not fit the output shaft on the Hitec. So what I did is heat up one of the steering bolts with a lighter and put it through the hole so that it would be threaded like the traxxas ones. I have run a couple batteries through them now and they have not failed. I hear that you can get a Losi metal arm, but I am cheap so I thought I would try to make it work with what came with it ;-). The servo is noticeablely faster than the stock one and much smoother making the driving much more responsive and controlled. Bottom line...great servo for the same money as the stock one...plush you get to say your car is "modded" ;-)I just wish that they could work out the arm issue.

perfect
Used to replace my rudder servo on a 20 year old RC boat. Had similar specs to my old one and worked perfectly.

Reliable
I design and build my own custom radio controlled airplanes. I have used this brand of servos for years of rock solid performance. The only choice for me.

Very powerful for size.
These Hitec servos are super high quality, which ever model servo you buy. Almost zero play with gear spacing, super accurate centering. So quiet You can barely hear them.

Precision Tricopter control
I purchased this servo for the yaw mechanism on my simplecopter tricopter tail assembly. I've got about 25 hours of flight time and so far it has held up very well. The movement is smooth and precise and the construction has brushed off several hard crashes. If your looking for a quality tail servo for a tricopter then look no further. Especially if you don't want to wait on china and need a quality part. Don't skimp on your tail servo..TRUST ME. I've flown the $5.00 jobs and there is no comparison to quality. *PROS* Metal gears for extra strength Rugged construction Hitec quality control *CONS* None so far

Good servos
Can't beat Hitec servos for the price.

Nice little servo
Nice little servo... using for throttle servo so it's going to get a lot of work.... not high torque work, but lots of movement. I'll update review after a couple of months of use. Last servos only made it about 8 months. One servo is outside the plane right behind the engine and the other is inside the wing.

Extremely robust servos fir your dollar. Center perfectly.

I bought this because of the metal gears, but there is no ball bearing to take the load. There is a lot of play on the output shaft, so not suitable for a precision application. I also bought an HS-85BB which does have a ball bearing for the output shaft and i is much more solid and precise, but it only has plastic gears. It be great if they combined the best of these 2 servos.

Just perfect!

Way stronger and same size than the 81. I ve used this one with the metal gear as an exchange for a 81 with a plastic gear. Now it works without slipping through. A great and strong little Servo
