ARRIVED UNABLE TO FUNCTION
Just laptop a ride for my son's birthday. Was unable to work upon opening. It powered on and then the screen just stayed blue. We took it to Best Buy to have a look at it and they said it had nothing loaded on it. It was essentially a paperweight.

Great product, great price!
Love the green! Great for gaming. Loaded some higher rated games and it plays them crisp clear and seamlessly. Battery life is low but again I played more taxing games so that was expected. Arrived in 7 days well protected. Set up was a breeze. No lag in game play while downloading another game. I was quite impressed. Picture is good. No mass updates after set up, that was nice.

Flimsy
I bought this a little over a year ago, it isnt bad for light gaming. Sure, triple A titles arent going to fare too well on this system, but it has treated me well when it comes to indie games and some e-sports titles. The screen hinge popped out of socket one day a month back, I didn't notice it happened until I went to close the lid and the bezel around the screen cracked. The crack still exists and it cannot push the pieces back together. Just saying the price has went up since I purchased mine, at the time of writing this review it sits around $650 when I purchased it the price was near $500 and some change.

Laptop literally blew up right at 18 months
My hp 15-cx0058wm Pavilion laptop, exactly 18 months old, literally blew up. I had the power cord plugged in (yes, the original OEM HP power supply), and was starting up the laptop. It was under the heavy-load boot-up portion where it's loading up the Windows apps and the desktop, then suddenly an audible "pop", the whole laptop shut off with display, and also 2 puffs of smoke rose from near the power input. I opened the laptop and took out the motherboard expecting to see obvious signs of burning and I do not see anything obvious.I have had nothing but trouble with HP laptops, especially with overheating and noisy fans. To have an expensive gaming laptop die in 18 months is ridiculous. Stay away from HP laptops.

Requires work to make it work correctly.
First, I actually bought this from Walmart on a clearance price I couldn't turn down. I thought I bought an expensive paperweight. It was extremely unreliable, boot errors constantly. Being a techie kind of guy that knows computers well, I started digging. I knew the hardware should be acting better.Taking the case apart I found that the machine had a standard 1TB HDD. In the NVMe slot was an SSD, only 16GB though. I knew quickly that Windows ten needs 32GB to install. I checked the BIOS, the SSD and the HDD were set up in RAID. I took out the SSD, turned off RAID, and reformatted the HDD with a CLEAN copy of Windows 10 Pro. BOOM, totally new machine. It actually boots every time and runs smoothly. If you have the know how to put in the work, it is a good machine. If I had paid full price for this thing, I would have been livid. I don't recommend it for anyone at full price, especially if you can't do the work to make the machine work properly.

Great for simple gaming
The computer in my opinion is amazing. My old computer has NOTHING on this computer. The games I play ex sims run so nicely

meh... idk..
It's okay but I really think it sucks that you cannot upgrade ti with a better GPU.. it has a 5GB/s Type-C port on it... you need thunderbolt 3 and it does not come with that. :(
