Works perfectly!
I worked at a florist through my college years (20 yrs ago). My main job was to "strip" the rose stems to prepare them for floral arrangements or one of "dozen rose bouquets" that we offered at a special price (loose stems wrapped in floral paper). This tool is EXACTLY what floral professionals use! In fact, I purchased this one to replace my old one that did an awesome job for 20+ yrs.I assume the negative reviews are due to the tool being used incorrectly. You must use the right pressure (not too hard - which damages the stem, but not too soft - leaving thorns intact) and you pull the thorn stripper down the stem QUICKLY, starting at the end closest to flower. I hope this helps!

work great!
I can't believe people don't think these are any good. I have one that I have been using to dethorn blackberry branches, and they work beautifully. I'm here to order two more pair so my friends can help out with the task. I run them along the blackberry branches to remove the thorns (and leaves), then snip the vines and coil them up, everything's much easier to handle that way. They will leave a sprinkling of thorns all over the ground, but this is a consequence I'm willing to accept in exchange for another effective weapon in my arsenal against blackberries.

Best device to remove thorns without hurting yourself
This is sturdy, resistant, comfortable. I have to remove more than 100 roses thorns and this came in very handy. It is easy to use!

Pretty good for the smaller thorns amd such
I am a florist for a upscale wedding and event Floral business in Nashville. So I see a lot, I mean a lot of flowers in a week. I thought these, would help with stripping of the flowers when making our arrangements. They do okay. Pretty good for the smaller thorns amd such, not great with the bigger thorns or thinkers trunks.

Nice tool!
This stem stripper tool was new to me but worked great with a little practice. I highly recommend this tool if you have the luxury of time to read the other reviews and the directions and have a few practice stems. I practiced on the rose stems of the flower girl flowers so no harm done on the boo-boos. But with the right pressure and a quick pull the stems were still in good shape minus the leaves and thorns.

Could not have done without it
These work decently. I had to de-thorn 40 dozen roses for a wedding and would not have been able to do so without this. You can not do the whole stem at a time or it will break or tear but if you start from the bottom and do it about in thirds at a time it worked well. Do not pinch tightly - it will remove the stems skin but rather hold loosely enough that you remove the pointed end. This will sometime leave a small portion of the base of the thorn but that is okay. You will have to remember to hold it tighter at the top then at the bottom since the thorns are smaller and make sure to hold just above the area that you are clearing, not from the head of the rose are far away. Good luck!

Worked great for me
I wasn't sure this would work based on other reviewers. However, it works great for me. It didn't crush the stems at all, and I used it on various sizes of roses from my garden. Stripping the thorns and leaves makes arranging bouquets or giving them as gifts soooo much easier. Wish I'd known about this inexpensive, useful tool before.

I didnt actually know they made a tool like this and then I found it and it was so AMAZINGLY helpful for stripping the flowers I used for my wedding. Saved me a lot of time. I would love to use it for all my flower arrangements at home too, but I left it at my mom's house and she lost it. lame
