Great Pen
This open performs as expected. I purchased disposable fountain pens to try before obligating myself to fountain pens. Minimal pressure is needed to produce a legible mark, which is what I needed since my job requires me to take extensive hand notes. It's comfortable to hold even in my giant hands. The ink dries quickly on paper.Downside: I doubt it will be useful for writing on duplicate/multiple pages at once. But I've not tried yet. The pen color isn't as metallic looking as advertised, almost plastic looking. This isn't a reason not to purchase the pen. The ink dries when you leave it with the cap off for 15 minutes. But after a little bit of drawing it along the paper, the ink starts flowing again without the need of an external source for moisture. Finally, it doesn't fit in my shirt pocket as the clip barely brushes the top of the pocket. This is a fair tradeoff for a pen that isn't too small for a giant of my size.

You can turn your finger just a tad and you will know your new pen is truly wonderful.
I like this pen. I think I can safely call this my new hobby. I'm 79 and enjoy reading the reviews of others.

Good Pen but Question
So I got three of these pens (one from my girlfriend was red that I use for black ink, two I bought, one is blue that I use for blue ink, and one that black for red ink). I also got an extra fine nib. But I am confused because the extra fine nib writes just as wide as the standard nib that they came with. I don’t know if it’s because the blue ink, or if it’s because something is wrong with the nib. I do notice that the EF nib isn’t aligned with the hood, so maybe it is related to that?Anyways, I love the pens but I am a little frustrated that the EF writes as thick as the M nib. Does anyone have any ideas? I was also looking for ways to contact Dryden but I couldn’t find any as of now.

I only just received this pen, and have only written one sentence. But I like it a lot.
The pen arrived and was lovely right out of the box. Exactly as pictured. What the pictures don't show is that in person it is visually striking and is not cheap in feel or appearance. I like the looks very much.First off, I filled the pen with Sheaffer green ink, which seemed to match the pen's color very well. It worked immediately and smoothly. On the first stroke, the ink was flowing. I think I have never had a new fountain pen start so smoothly. Every stroke, letter, and word down six lines of ruled notebook paper was just as good. This is only my first impression, but my first impression is very positive. For a sixteen-dollar pen, this one is very pleasing, and I would not hesitate to get one as a gift, specially for someone new to fountain pens. This pen is slimmer than I am used to. That is the only drawback that I can see so far--and it might not be a drawback at all for me; I might find it very comfortable as I get used to it. So far, I am pleased.

Memories of old
Yes, memories of old, years ago. I used to use this type of fountain pen in my younger years. Back in those memories, I remember the ink buildup on my fingers because of the hard grip I had on what I thought was the greatest pen of all. It was, in some parts, those memories that caused me to choose to purchase this purple and another blue pen. I was very excited about my purchases. I had enough refills of black and blue ink to last for a while. Putting it together with great anticipation soon dropped to disappointment. No matter how hard I tried, I could never make with pen work with the ink cartridge to work correctly. So I putboth pes in my cup f pens to try another time to make it work. Well, as can happen, the pens got lost in the cup of lots of old pens one forgets that they didn't work properly. Until I had seen it, I hadn't typed a review. Here, I am now sharing my thoughts about these pens. Please consider very strongly this investment in a great type of pen of old. Even now I still can't get either pen to work I recommend that if you make this investment and you find it will not work properly for you, return it right away. Don't let it become one of those pens you save for years inhope it will only take some time before you can get it to work. As for me, it ended up being a waste of money. The choice is yours, but I would consider it if you want to add to your cup of unused pens. Please consider that possibility when you consider purchasing this pen. It may work for you, but also consider that it may not. I feel that it is one of those "Buyer beware".

Fountain pens
Love it not always running around looking for pen with ink. Always have same ink on page, and/or document and/or drawing. My life is good and that makes me smile adds happiness to my day. New ink pens better than great number of “ran out of ink pens”. Old is new again!

Some colors are way off - do NOT buy unless color is not important.
The pen is fine, & I usually like Dryden brand, but "decadent purple" is the EXACT same color as "mystic blue". I returned the first not-purple-but-blue pen I received thinking it was a mistake or fluke. The second time I received a blue-instead-of-purple pen, I showed it to everyone I could to make sure my eyes weren't the problem. Not one person of the dozen I showed them to was able to tell the blue & purple pens apart - & they all agreed the pen was blue when I asked them what color they thought it was.I had ordered both colors (along with white & silver - those at least were actually different colors - as well as pink & black.) as gifts for coworkers & needed to make an emergency run to a local stationery store to find an alternative to the very NOT PURPLE pen I purchased. The point of buying the pens on Amazon in the first place was to avoid trips to the store. Grrrrr.Th pink pen was closer to salmon or orange than the hot pink shown in the photo, but I could make do with that color - even though it wasn't ideal. The color issues with this order and brand will have me looking elsewhere when I need pens - & warning others away. There are less expensive pens that look just as nice & come in the actual color you requested. I would recommend you head elsewhere for your fountain pen.
