Very cute and easy to make but my five year old had a lot of difficulty marking the knots so basically she watched me do the whole thing and she added the decor herself. Looks cute though

Fun & easy project. My only complaint is that the material is very thin and rips easily, so you must be careful when handling.

The Emoticon Pillow is a wonderful way to introduce children to pre-sewing and the fun of crafts. This kit includes 8 12-inch square pieces of nylon fleece. This particular kit had pink, yellow, blue, purple, and green. Each square has pre-cut edges. The child ties knots to connect each square to another to form one large 20-inch square pillow. This tying of knots is easy and good for building hand and small motor strength in the fingers, which is excellent for building good writing skills. The directions are easy to follow so that even an older child could be a helper for a younger child. The decorations are all pre-cut and the kit comes with fabric glue to apply the decorations to the pillow. For adventurous types, instead of making one large pillow, the kit is suitable for four small 12-inch pillows, which is great if you have multiple children to serve. This could also be great for a make-and-take party item – it is that easy to do! This kit is suitable for ages 6 and up and for any gender. Made in China.

This is a great craft project for young kids who are just getting started and don't have advanced cutting and/or sewing skills because everything is put together by tying knots. The set includes everything necessary to create a quilt, a purse, and a jumbo pillow. Felt embellishments are also included to add some extra fun and personality. The fabric squares are soft and of good quality. An easy-to-follow instruction book is also included, which most kids should be able to follow on their own. Creative, fun craft project for young kids.

I was so excited to get this for my grand daughter for her birthday. However when she opened it up there were only 5 squares for the pillow instead of 8 needed to make the pillow. Instead of the hassle of returning it we bought some fleece at the store and made the pillow.

Tie blankets are so easy and fun to make, so why not tie pillows? And with emoticons being all the rage, this makes a great gift for the pre-teen set. Everything needed to put the pillow together is included in the set and directions are easy to follow.

My kiddos are pretty darn crafty and my 7 year old daughter loved this. It took her a while to make it, and I would personally find it tedious to tie all of the knots, but she enjoyed it and is saving it up for a Christmas gift for her little sister. It was great to keep her busy over the summer months and easy enough for her to do on her own with a little guidance. The book was easy enough for her to read and do it though. Great little project!
