Flexi 6 Connector Flexible Cane Ball for Building Protective Fruit Cages and Netting Frames, with Canes, Bamboo and Garden Stakes - Pack of 8

Read all reviews and decided to give it a go - nice idea but does not really work to provide a sturdy frame. I used plastic coated metal canes but the tapered inside means though they fit snug at end they flop about due to larger entry area! Used the suggestion to warm them to get the up / down pieces as these are diff to the 4 others inside.Tried tapoe round canes to make a tighter fit, that did not really work. So am consigning this as a cheap and cheerful failed experiment and am still looking for proper snug connectors that have a deeper inset /sleeve to give stability. I also tried canes but thick one end and thin t'other means that idea lasted about 10 secs.

I am delighted with this purchase. I have been looking to build a cage but had loads of canes in the shed and didnt want to spend more than I needed. I have been able to cut the canes to size so that my cage fits the bed perfectly. With a bit of force I had no problems getting the canes to fit the holes. Two of the holes are tighter than the rest (by design) and I found it worked best to use these for the upright cane. I dont think it would work for metal or plastic rods, you need the give of a bamboo cane. We've had a fair bit of wind since i built it and it has stood firm. Very happy!

Great idea but they do not actually work because the holes are not deep enough to provide a firm fit. I bought them to make a brassica cage with green plastic coated garden stakes but they didn't fit in the holes. Using bamboo canes was not possible either as these tend to have a narrow end and a wider end - neither of which were the right size for the holes. I tried unsuccessfully to add tape to make the cane ends wider to fit the holes, but nothing I did worked. A complete waste of money, time and effort.

If holes appear too small just place in to a small jug of boiling water to soften before applying, hey presto! When cool they then form a good grip around cane.

Does the job but needs modification on one of the faces to fit hence the 4 star. But a very acceptable product at an acceptable price

These are completely useless. One set of holes is the perfect size for canes but the other 4 are too big to fit anything in them securely and also too shallow. I had to go straight out and buy something else.

love these, used to tie canes with string etc, but these take the hassle of building fruit cages protectng stuff at my allotment

Not a very good item the canes were wither too big or too small and kept falling out
