HDMI Coupler

I needed a way to quickly test a Roku 4k streaming stick without having to pull cables though my wall. Enter the "BENFEI HDMI Coupler". Connect the streaming stick to an existing HDMI cable and its just worked. I could discern no visible difference between the Roku connected directly to the TV and via this coupler. The TV did not act differently or report lower capabilities (which can happen when using cheaper cables). Physically they don't feel cheap and visually the plastics look higher quality that the myriad of bargain basement options. I don't know if all the HDMI pins are wired internally e.g the HDMI network pins, so I cant say for sure if it would work for more advanced connectivity like eARC but 4k HDR Dolby Vision requires everything in the connectivity chain to be HDCP compliant which hints that some effort has been made to do this right and not cheap out. I would recommend these, they just work and are cheap enough to buy-to-try for more advanced options.

Used these to connect Amazon fire sticks to HDMI extension cables. Have been working faultlessly for several months. Highly recommend.

Not great a bit flimsy and a little picture interface

A great little accessory - I use it as an HDMI switch (placing it in a convenient location where I can easily swap between two different inputs). Where in the past I’ve had some issues with actual HDMI switches dropping signal, or being slow to detect etc. this coupler has been perfect 100% of the time

Doing a better job than a HDMI switcher I paid £50 for that I ended up using as a coupler. Plus you get two in the pack, my first one has been working now for months.

I received a DirecTV streaming dongle to test out. It is similar to the smaller Roku dongles with a male HDMI pigtail connector. My set is wall mounted and I didn't want to fight my hand behind the set and blindly search for a receptacle so I bought this adapter. With this, I was able to unplug the HDMI cord from the original DirecTV streaming box and then use it to connect to the dongle. It works perfectly and there is no degradation in either video or audio.
