Air Spring - Rear - 07-19 Compatible with Mercedes GL/GLS(X164,X166)/06-18 ML/GLE(W164,W166), incl AMG

Replaced my GL450 original factory air springs with these Arnotts. Very easy install, as only the rear wheel/tire assembly needs to be removed for the air spring installation. My only complaint with the new air springs is that they were supposed to come rolled up so that they would fit easily into the given space. Mine were fully extended, so I had to remove the white plastic plug from the air fitting and manually compress the air spring to get them into the opening of the vehicle. Build quality seems very good on these air springs.

I’ve had good experience using Arontt on previous cars.. Ordered two Arnott air springs to replace them on my Mercedes x166 GL. Easy install as usual with air springs. However this time both exploded around the upper clamp after just driving 10-15 miles.. Compared the OEM design the Arnott springs does not have a little rubber lip on top of the clamp to secure them making them much weaker, a horrible design flaw. Almost like you start to wonder if these are real Arnott springs..?

This is the easiest part to install on this vehicle I have ever done, easier than changing the air filters even!! Imagine that, plus they are supposed to be an improved part and have a good warranty. I felt Far more comfortable using this branded product than the less expensive no name products available from other vendors. This product claims to use Continental brand bladders for the air spring and my personal experience with Continental products is highly positive. I highly recommend this product, install following the enclosed instructions and online videos. I was initially concerned with the potential for leakage on the air lines as the instructions say to remove the original fitting and simply push/insert the air line into the air shock. It works!! No leaks.

Easy swap with the OEM bag. Simple plug and play , just follow directions. Perhaps a little stiffer than OEM during cornering, other than that it feels the same, a year later.

Bag had a blowout while installing. The ring was bad. Manufacturer who is located near me in Florida told me it was defective. It cost me 1500 in repairs and my ride height has never been the same.

Replaced previous Arnott springs that I had hoped would last forever. Got 8 years out of them - which was nearly double what the Mercedes Benz OEMs lasted. Very happy. First class product, first class materials, delivered in 1 day. Old springs didn't actually fail - but differential contraction at -40C for two weeks in winter (use a garage if you have one!) led the metal ring at the top of the bladder to loosen relative to the core and begin to leak - only noticeable if you didn't drive it for a week.
