IKEA 301.841.73 Holmo lamp, 46 inches, White

I needed some sort of ambient lighting in my living room and didn't have a lot of spare cash. So, I turned to the Amazon Marketplace to see what I could find on a tight budget. Up popped these lights in the search. They aren't as tall as I wanted, but the price was good, so I got two. They come in a small, heavy (because of the weighted base) box and took about five minutes to assemble. I put in a CFL bulb and put them in place. One behind a screen, the other behind a small table. The one behind the screen is a perfect height (not quite four feet tall) and gives a lovely shadowy effect. The one behind the small table was a little short, but I put it on a milk crate I had and it looks fine. They are not reading lamps, but as accent lamps they are perfect. Like the contemporary attitude of the paper shades and the foot switch is genius.

For the price, I think this lamp is fantastic. I personally don't think it's quite as flimsy as other reviewers made it sound. I mean, no, it's not rock solid. It's a 16 dollar lamp. And I'll agree that the size is a little awkward. I agree with the reviewer who said you should measure it out where you want to place it. Mine is next to a papasan chair, making this lamp the perfect height for reading. I'm using a basic 13w CFL (60 watt equivalent, I think) and it's bright enough to read by with no other lighting. In fact, it lights up the room fairly well. I think a more dim bulb might be nicer if I wanted to use the lamp purely for ambiance or to have it on while watching tv or something like that. The shade really is paper. It's only slightly thicker than rice or tissue paper, so yes, this thing will probably tear somewhat easily. It's not designed to take a beating. I've only just received it so I can't yet comment on longevity nor if it attracts dust and gets really dirty looking, but I'll probably update this review after I use the lamp for longer. For now, I'm very pleased with the purchase considering I'm on a very tight budget.

Very basic lamp. easy to assemble, required no major tools. It's simple and plain looking and blends with whatever color palette you've got going. Only drawbacks: 1. Most obvious: the paper shade is not very durable and rips very, very easily, so be careful!! 2. Not sure if this was due to human error or this is just how the lamp is, but mine is always crooked for some reason. It tilts to one side and I can't get it to stand upright ever. So I ended up having to put it up against the dresser, so that it didn't look so crooked. 3. This is just personal preference for me: I thought that the lamp was too short to be a floor lamp and too tall to be a table lamp, so it just kinda looked odd. I recommend putting some kind of a low stool or something underneath it and setting it on the ground. But overall, I would say this is a very good, reliable, inexpensive lamp that does its job well.

I am not the person who writes the review after purchase, however, since the seller was very impressive, I decided to leave the feedback this time :) First of all, the lamp itself is great 1. Good quality compared to its price as all other IKEA products 2. Prettier than I have expected! 3. Small but bright - perfect for my small studio Also, FASTHOMEGOODS are the most amazing seller I have ever met. I had some problem with USPS about the delivery, tried to deal with USPS and finally asked help to the seller. 1. The response/reaction was surprisingly quick and nice 2. They did their best to solve the issue with my order (though it was mostly due to USPS) 3. In addition, the price of the lamp is cheaper compared to other sellers on Amazon. I really appreciate FASTHOMEGOODS and strongly recommend FASTHOMEGOODS to everybody.

Love this lamp it has been 5 years at this point I own two of them the only draw back is that the shade material will wear out at some point but the parts are all standard and the design is genius.

This floor lamp is beautiful with just a regular white bulb. I am currently using 4 lamps in my living room for my Theater in House experience and loving every moment in accordance with my Philips Hue color ambient bulbs and the Philips Hue Sync Box. These lamps would fit in nicely with any Asian or modern design in your home. They are very easy to assemble and lite weight as well. It sands about 4 ft high and about 9 inches wide. The price is at a phenomenal low price of $30 + tax.... Sincerely; TonyL

Needed a lamp or the spare room, but not something over priced that we will barely use anyway. For £11 I gave this a go - turned up next day, took 5 minutes to assemble and looks great. Fits nicely under our shelves, next to the bed, and gives a good amount of light with a 10W LED Bulb (60W equivalent) without blocking out the light by some lamps. Overall a good lamp at outstanding value, I thought the quality would be much lower, but it looks great, feels sturdy (although we have it in the corner so it doesn't get knocked a lot anyway) and lights up the room fine!

I will be direct and forward and just say this to start -- You got to buy this!!! Excellent, excellent lamp from IKEA. Don't let the fact that it's cover is made of rice-paper turn you away -- it is high quality and it is just a style necessary to produce the nice soft, textured color. This lamp is very well-made and very, very well-thought out in design. The parts all all precise and well-machined and looks it like it is going to last a long time. Even comes with a high-quality floor switch. Arrived from Amazon nicely packed into a neat, small box; and easy to install -- took me about less than 8 minutes to set this up. Contrary to the seller's answer in the Q&A section above, this lamp also DOES accept A19 sized light bulbs with plenty of room left on the bulb's sides, especially if your bulb is LED since that would get only warm and not hot to burn the cover . The bulb base (the part where you screw it into the socket is E26 size. I used my Philips Hue LED color bulb with A19 shape and E26 base in this lamp. IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here, please check out my photograph of this lamp with the Hue LED bulb. Best lamp I ever purchased. And for this high quality and excellent design at this very low price? Are you kidding me? You got to buy this right away! Note that in the second photograph, this lamp is placed next to three other lamps for comparison, including two Philips lamp on the right. All four lamps are using Philips Hue Color LED A19-E26 bulbs. I will give you a price breakdown for value comparison, starting from left to right in the second photo: (1) This IKEA lamp -- $20 (2) Some desk lamp I bought from a boutique high-end lights shop -- about $130 (3) Philips Wellness Table Lamp -- $124.99 (4) Philips Wellner Table Lamp -- $124.99 Now, looking at that second photo, you tell me which lamp has the best value? This one of course! Granted, the Philips Wellner and Wellness lamps both came with a Philips Hue _White_ bulb which costs about $40 each (so those two lamps actually costs only about $85 each. But still, the value-for-money winner is clearly this IKEA lamp. I am so happy with this lamp! Very, very highly recommended.

Très facile à monter. Il manquait juste l'adaptateur pour la prise. Sinon très bon achat. À avoir absolument dans son salon.
