Great phone for email only - if you have reception
I've had my Titan for a week now - and I'm pretty happy with it. Pros: large beautiful screen which is especially good for my poor eyesight, nice interface and very smooth operation - with no lockups, and I don't think MS snoops in all of my email the way G**gle does!! The build quality is very nice - this isn't a cheap plasticky phone.Cons: I have tested my Titan against five other phones - in the same location and same carrier - and the Titan has the poorest / worst cellular reception. It simply cannot hold onto a connection where the other phones could. Also, so far it is not eligible for the upgrade to WP 7.8 - although that "upgrade" brings little to the table. Not the Titan's fault but the Windows Marketplace is still seriously lacking. And, even though the screen is pretty nice - it is a low resolution screen thanks to Windows Phone's hastily rushed to the market OS (only one screen resolution available on WP7).Other: The Titan was sold as unlocked but it arrived locked to AT&T. To their credit, the seller was very responsive in getting an unlock code. The box was obviously used and shopworn - and the Titan itself has a small blemish on the metal near the screen. I suspect it is a refurb but I can't prove it. That being said, it is a very nice phone and I am keeping it.******************** Edited on 24 MAR to add comments *************************This phone continues to not impress me. To it's credit, the screen is large, bright and easy to read. And, it runs smoothly and quickly. When it is able to receive a celluar signal, it quickly connects, updates and downloads e-mail. But, the key term here is reception. I just tested it again at my place in Germany. I have seven active SIM cards (Germany is pre-paid Heaven!) so I took the Titan and my iPhone4 to the basement laundry room where I live. Both phones had a chip from the same carrier - LeBara - which uses the Telekom network here. The iPhone4 - not 4s - had three bars of signal and cellular data worked. My Titan had no signal - no nothing. I wish I had known about this before I bought it. And, I want to again warn anyone who might read this - closely check the seller's rating before you buy a phone here that is NOT shipped and sold directly by Amazon. I'm pretty sure my phone was a return or refurb or at least a blemished model - and it was sold as new.

hmmm... not working....
first of all this phone is NOT unlocked.. it tooks 3 weeks to receive the unlock code.the phone I received was like a demo phone to be used in the store. Filled with random contacts and random messages. I tried to perform a soft and a hard reset and it always come back to the demo mode. Even after unlocking the phone, I will had the screensaver activating when it was charging. Demo Screensaver with the functionalities. I wasn't able to disable it.The phone was accepting my LiveID but always giving error to sync. Wasn't able to add Facebook account, only to download the app and log into facebook for windows phone.I returned the phone and expecting to receive a new one, several friends have a windows phone and it doesn't give those errors.

Very likeable product
A little while back I purchased a Samsung Focus which was my first taste of the WP7 OS and it was the best phone I ever had that wasn't an iPhone. I lost that phone and I needed a replacement and since I didn't want to fork over another $160, I got a cheap Android Froyo device. WOW, I was so miserable using that thing that I regretted not getting a quality device! Enter the Titan.Obviously the screen size is the big feature (pun intended). You can feel how it affects the user experience in a very good way when using the keyboard, the dial pad, and apps because it feels more natural and easier to navigate and touch. Viewing and taking pictures on it is just stellar. The HTC also has very good looks and if you have an eye for design it does not disappoint. It sports a rugged yet minimalist style. I couldn't help but compare it to a miniature iPad 1 because of the defined edges and curves on the back. Even with my medium to small sized hands, the HTC still feels great to hold because its so well built. Overall I'm impressed and I don't think pictures do it justice. The Titan comes with other features that I didn't expect simply because I thought all WP7 phones were exactly the same with the exception of the casing and maybe a few spec bumps but I was wrong. The device comes with built in SRS sound enhancing (a hugely pleasant surprise for me personally), a feature called "attentive phone" which changes the behavior of the phone when its in your pocket or when you get a call, and tons more tones to choose from compared to my old Samsung. One thing that I should highlight is the battery life. The battery life on my old Focus was awful and was probably the only drawback it had but the Titan, despite its larger screen and more horsepower, manages to hang in there steady for longer times. In the end I think this is a very good device and I'm quite glad I bought it.

Awesome Phone
I am a previous iPhone user. When my iPhone's lock and home button broke for the second time, and the speaker stopped working, I decided to stop wasting money on it and began searching for a new phone. Android devices seemed a little unusable for me, so I looked through Windows Phones, which is something I normally wouldn't do, as I don't like the Windows desktop OS very much.Knowing I liked HTC a lot, I decided on the HTC Titan (Ultimate) after only a short while. Upon receiving the phone, I was hesitant, because I had never used a Windows Phone before. But after a few minutes, I was in bliss. Not only is it 10x faster than my iPhone 4 (which came out in the same year), but the simplicity of design of the Windows 7.5 Mango interface is amazing.HTC also has a reputation for well built and strong phones, and this one is no exception. With an aluminum enclosure and a huge screen, this beast of a phone dwarfed the small iPhone, which is especially helpful when reading a constant flow of emails and text messages. If you're in the market for a very reasonably priced Windows Phone, look no further. The HTC Titan is the top of the line!

Be BOLD!
First of all I would like you to ignore all the hype behind the Windows Phone 8 OS and Mango (7.5) users not getting it. The phone will get all of the features in an update called 7.8 but only the features that matter. EG Windows Phone 8 supports dual core processors, SD card etc. all which our current range of phones do not have or require so is not included in 7.8.Moving from a HTC Desire running Android Gingerbread 2.3 this is a step in the right direction. There are over 100,000 apps on the Windows Marketplace and I have found every app I could possibly want or need so you can ignore all the trash about the apps not being there too. When I got this phone I thought it was huge, but it's huge in a beautiful way, the screen is LCD and so the white and blacks are way more accurate than that of the trashy AMOLED found on the Galaxy S2. Pixel count isn't noticeable because the LCD is just gorgeous.I wanted a simple phone which done the job and Windows 7.5 is right in there, iOS is too simple and Android is too complicated. Windows 7.5 checks all the boxes. Notifications are on the Live Tiles so there is no notification screen and I've found this to be quite intuitive, now I don't spend half of my time looking at a notification menu. The OS is incredibly smooth, there is no lag or even a hint of lag, it feels far superior to anything I've ever tried. Here are some of the best features about my HTC Titan and the Windows Phone 7.5 OS...1) Camera Button - You heard that right Android/iPhone users. Yes you can still touch your screen if you wanted too, it's just nice to have a button.2) Xbox Live - Now I can play mobile games and earn G points all at the same time, it ties in to Xbox Live really well.3) Internet Explorer - By far the best browser I've seen on a mobile (you heard that right), it's so fast and fluid, and on a large screen who needs to view the Mobile Website? Now I can view the Desktop Website.4) Screen Size - 4.7 inches of magnificance, the LCD really makes the AMOLED look like it has catching up to do.5) Single Core Processor - Better battery life, Windows 7.5 runs smooth on the cheapest of phones, dual core isn't necessary unlike the Android Powerhouse. I can get 2 days out of my Titan with ease.6) Aluminium Case - Yes it's a bit of a pain to hold as it feels slippery but it really does give a nice finish.7) People Hub - Bring together Facebook, Hotmail & Phone Contacts.8) Office - WIN9) Photosynth - Love taking 360 degree panorama photo's.10) Bing Get Me there - Best Tube app ever.11) Windows Phone 7.8 - We're not being left out in the dark! Resizable tiles is going to be awesome!Things that I felt were average...1) Navigation - Just isn't there unless your willing to pay £27 for Route 66. Granted it is unlimited. It does offer Bing Maps with step by step nagivation however. Get a Nokia if you want Navigation for free...2) Updates - Still done via Microsoft Zune however the 7.8 will probably change that to OTA. Not a big deal though, also it means you have to install Zune software.3) YouTube - Yes it doesn't have Adobe Flash and the app is just a link but YouTube has worked flawlessly for me and I have no Adobe Flash bugs to report. =DHere is an expert review from Hardware Heaven who were skeptical at best about the Windows Phone OS + HTC Titan, they guessed again![...]Finally the reason for 5 stars is because it's a lot of bang for buck. £275 for a masterpiece.

Convenient, solid, good screen - but has serious flaws.
So I have used this phone for 3 years. I like the screen size and quality, phone size and shape, fantastic build quality (dropped it multiple times without consequence) and Windows Phone operating system. I don't bother with a case or worry about breaking the large screen. It fits easily into my shirt pocket which is very convenient. I will keep the phone 'till it fails (already replaced the battery 3 times). I expect this will take many years. However don't buy this phone unless you are prepared for the poor signal pickup, call quality and battery life. I have resorted to a MiFi, mobile battery backup and bluetooth headset to get round these problems.See https://windowsphoneawesomeness.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/htc-titan-how-issues-are-easy-to-resolve/

Excellent, easy to use Smartphone
Lots of reviewers here have already done a great job of detailing the technical specs and features of this HTC Titan so I will not repeat them here. What I want to say is that as a user of both the Apple iPhone and Google Android, including the new Icecream Sandwich OS, I am very impressed with the Windows Mobile 7.5 operating system and the combination with the HTC Titan. The phone is very quick and responsive, the camera is superb and made even better with a dedicated physical camera button, the OS is intuitive and very easy to use. The integration of windows live, google, Facebook and twitter accounts is very clever and streamlines my contact list, allowing me to easily email, text or write on someone's Facebook wall very easily. Creating groups such as family or work and then seeing updates from these people or viewing photo albums all from within the People app is again a great feature that I've not seen on my previous handsets. The lack of apps is not a significant drawback either as all the main apps that I've found useful on my previous phones are available in the Windows Marketplace and now that Skype has been released I'm not missing anything I was using before.I've had no problems syncing my photos, movies, music onto the phone using my Mac and the windows mobile connector program. In short this is a fantastic piece of hardware coupled with an intuitive and responsive operating system. 5 stars all round.

HTC Titan
I received my HTC titan the very next day after ordering, which was fantastic. I really enjoy this phone, the only issue is the camera, which I think is of slightly poor quality than other products on the market, however that is no fault of the seller. I like everything else about the phone, I can personalise it to suite my mood, get instant access to e-mails, facebook and messenger on the go, which is fantastic. I haven't yet used the microsoft office programs but I am sure I will do soon as this was the main reason for me buying a windows phone. Enjoying the phone! no real complaints!

windows phone blazing fast
a must have windows phone blazing fast compared to the hardware specification. the transition are so smooth you will not feel that the phone has a 512mb ram and runs on a single core processor with clock speed touching 1ghz. people who are thinking about nokia and display should not bother for screen comparison as the super lcd + is very good comparable to super amoled +.this is a great bargain go for it people
