What was I thinking?
Wow this puzzle was a big step up in difficulty from the 1000 piece puzzles I've worked before. The castle went together easily, but the rest of the puzzle takes a lot of work because the colors are so similar. I was about ready to throw in the towel but persevered and realize that I'll be able to complete it. After all the work I plan to mount it on foamboard as it's a beautiful scene. Also the all the pieces are interlocking so the puzzle stays in place. A quality fold out picture is included. Note that you will need a big workspace.Edit: I finished the puzzle and it feels like quite an accomplishment. I read that a puzzle is 4 times harder for every double in piece count. Kudo's to Buffalo Games - the pieces are well cut and interlock tightly. There is enough variation in the pieces to use shape to find the right piece (it's hard to use color/image in this puzzle).

Fantastic, beautiful. HARD
I'm still working on this 3 months later... but then again, I am a full-time student. I really like having a project puzzle to work on here and there, and am not at all put off by difficulty. As far as I'm concerned, once I'm finished, it's worthless. It's the journey, not the destination, or whatever. The pieces are VERY uniform (notably unlike Springbok puzzles, which I also enjoy, but which often contain highly irregular shapes), to the point of sometimes thinking two fit together when they didn't. The upside of this is that the ones that are supposed to interlock fit together PERFECTLY. So there's no wondering once you find a match. If you're up for the challenge, don't be dissuaded by the complaints of it being too hard. Yeah, it's really hard--I'm having a ton of fun. ALMOST done.

A Castle that's Worth the Work!
This is the first jigsaw I have done in more than 30 years and it was a bit of a challenge for me. But, the result was worth it, I think. The finished puzzle looks just as pictured online and on the diagram included inside the box (a very nice touch, especially for a large puzzle). The pieces fit well together and it was challenging enough to take several week to complete. The hardest part was the trees to the left and right of the castle - just had use a structured approach there. Only negatives were that a number of pieces had "chads" hanging on them and there was a fair amount of dust in the box. But overall, quite happy with the result.

Hours of Fun!
Enjoyed every minute. Quality is top-notch. Beautiful image. I don't typically do puzzles, so I'm not sure if puzzle makers build in "near matches" -- if that's the correct term for them -- but there were several head-scratchers in this one that enhanced the experience for me. Great product.

Item sold as new
This is not as much a product review as my disappointment with the fact that this puzzle was sold as new and that is apparently not the case. I gave it as a Christmas present to a friend who completed it this weekend. She informed me that 5 pieces are missing. All of the puzzles I have purchased in the past had the pieces sealed in plastic bag(s). This was not the case with this purchase.Do I want to return the puzzle for a new one? Not really. She informed me she does not want to complete the puzzle again. What does Amazon recommend in this case?

The product is fun, but please be careful in packaging.
I booked two puzzles in one order. Obviously the products were made after the order, because two pieces of puzzles were mixed to another box.Fortunately, I played the one containing two extra pieces and I didn't trash them. Actually I trashed them but before the trash be collected I played the other one and realized it, then save them from a lot of crap. That's not comfortable.

Relieved to be finished
Neuschwanstein Castle is a common jigsaw puzzle theme, so when I decided to tackle it, I decided to take on the challenge of a 2000 piece version. I'm glad I did. The castle is easy to do. The sky and the background mountains fall fairly easily into place--though there is a challenge in the volume of these pieces. The substantial issue is with the endless leafy sides. There is no easy way about it---you just have to push on. When finished, you will have a picture, a sense of accomplishment, and a strong sense of relief.

I enjoy castle puzzles, especially if I have actually been to it
Always a great castle to have a puzzle made from, the only downside is the puzzle comes with loose pieces inside the box. I have not done a puzzle by Buffalo games yet, the jury is out on piece durability, although they look sturdy enough. As is typical of a 2000 piece puzzle, it will measure 28" x 36" when finished.
