Great cholesterol test kit!
I've been wanting a cholesterol test kit I could do at home ever since I started having high cholesterol a couple of years ago. I'm so glad I can monitor how my medications are helping keep my cholesterol in check in the comfort of my home, any time I want with this device. This kit was great- from the packaging to the handy travel case and all the items that are included with this kit. The user manual was easy to follow and even came with a handy quick start guide and log book to keep track of my measurements. Since this was the first time I ever used a device like this, I definitely had to read the manual to code and pair the type of test strip you are using to the machine, and know how to take a blood sample. But the manual was easy to follow and thorough. Now that I tested my total cholesterol (red) strip that was included, I'm interested in buying and trying the profile test strip that also measures hdl and triglycerides. I am also very interested in trying the glucose meter, as this device is also able to test. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Cannot Commit Dollars to this Company
I bought the Curo L5 3 yrs ago and frankly did not use it much. I use another unit for my glucose but want this to track my Cholesterol, including the HDL and LDL. Originally there were black test strips that accomplished this but that is no longer the case. And, the capillary tubes are not sold separately which mean although I still have a few red Cholesterol test strips I would have to buy more of them to get the capillary tubes, so I cannot even finish what I have now. I wrote the company and the responded with buy another unit. I will move on to another company. Here is what I wrote and they replied:Curofit Support10:58 AM (1 hour ago)to meHello Resa,Thank you for reaching out. We do not sell capillary rods separately; they come with the test strip. Regarding the profile test strip, I am sorry to inform you that it has been discontinued for quite some time and is no longer available. The strips currently available for the L5 are TC (total cholesterol), TG (triglycerides), and glucose. You may want to consider upgrading to Curo L7, the highest professional-grade model we have for profile testing, which can screen Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, and LDL. We are offering this device at a discounted rate for Curo L5 customers. For $199, you can get the Curo L7 instead of the regular $239 price. Please let us know if you are interested in this offer.Thank YouCustomer Support

Great for tracking progress at home
I bought this meter so I wouldn’t have to wait to my yearly blood work to see if my high cholesterol was improving. I had also instituted some dietary changes and wanted feedback on what was working or not. It does need a fairly large drop of blood and the pipette that comes with the strips wasn’t the greatest. As far a accuracy it was fairly dead on with a test done at a work health fair and my doctor’s office - within 10%. I like with a type 1 and a type 2 diabetic so I know that glucose meters can vary about 20%. Seems reasonable that cholesterol devices would have a similar margin of error. The data from this device, along with a plant based diet helped me reduce my cholesterol 60 points compared to my lab work last year.

Easy to use, accurate
I've read the negative reviews, and many of them could have been avoided if people just read the description (it only tests total cholesterol - it says that in the description). It is easy to use, once you understand you hold the capillary stick up and down to suck up the blood from your finger, and then hold it at an angle to transfer the blood to the strip. I wasted one strip, not knowing that. Wasted another strip because it was too cold in my house, and I didn't know what the Lo error message was for. I bought extra test strips, and was disappointed to see they expire in a few months (I had ordered the extras with the intent of using one a month to test myself for well over a year). But I think it's a good tester -- I think it's relatively accurate. Not a replacement for actual lab tests, but a good way to keep track in between, which was my intent. I really like the lancet holder -- best one I've ever used, and I have no problem getting an adequate supply of blood to test. Not sure why others think it's cheap. I think it's pretty well made. I didn't buy the L7 because you need three separate tests, and your total cholesterol makes up all of those, and I'm getting total cholesterol with the L5. I figure regular lab tests once a year is good enough for the breakdown, and if my total cholesterol is going down, so, too, probably is my LDL, so it's all good.

Somewhat consistent for total cholesterol
Somewhat consistent for total cholesterol so far after 7 measurements over six consecutive days. All the readings are in the past 15 year range of my lab total cholesterol so my guess is it is somewhat accurate but I will know better when I get another lab result in 2 months. I fasted for all these just like for the lab.The clear plastic capillary rods are way too much hassle and so I just squeezed enough blood so that I can angle my fingertip to the test strip without having skin touch the circular test paper. The manufacturer website curofit had the best price for test strips $18 for 10 and also I got the triglyceride strips there. But triglyceride testing hasn't gone as well. My first reading was low which I never got for a total cholesterol. My second reading minutes later seems below my lab range so I am skeptical about triglyceride accuracy. More testing May change my mind

Accurate and easy to use
A great device for cholesterol and triglyceride readings in between regular Dr visits. I've been wanting to see my number more regularly based upon my diet and exercise. I have genetic components so have to work harder on getting my numbers in control. This device comes only with the cholesterol strips. I just bought the triglyceride strips, as well-separately. Very easy to use-you have to read more than just the quick-set up guide for first use to get the device, strips and lancer to work correctly. So far it is great!
