Saint John Bosco (Vision Books)

After purchasing this book, I thought it would be just purely autobiographical about Saint John Bosco. Actually, it is far more deeper than an autobiography, it examines the major turning points how a person should cope with the struggle of everyday life. John Bosco is an example of a saint who portrays an ideal life of financial adversity and undergone through severe pain in educating his fellow students. Dominic Savio, a pupil of John Bosco, depicts his mentor as loving and humble. John Bosco did not die without any gain of accomplishments; he did built a school for the children who lost themselves in the dark(lost of self-identity). John Bosco taught the children proper decorum as well as the encouragement of self-esteem. This book does offer good details and background of John Bosco and some information of the life of Dominic Savio!

The book was purchased for my grandson who made his First Communion the first Sunday in May. It is an easy read, and the stories sets an example of how one can improve the world around you by doing things that are in the reach of a 7 or 8 year old child. The book is geared for hat age and is well worth having a child read it. It shows a child how one can be a superhero without have superpowers.

Well written and an enjoyable read. Highly recommend all the Vision books.

This is a very well written book! It contained humor and great teaching points to educate my girls (9 and 7) about different aspects of the Faith. I would read them a chapter a night and they would often want me to keep reading. A great book for any household library!

This book was written before I was born, but it is written in a fun and even suspenseful, exciting way. I'm looking forward to reading it with my third grader
