Longtime archer...great quality for price!
I just ordered a Samick Sage to go w my bow collection so I would have a cheap good quality portable takedown to noxk around in the woods and not worry about it getting damaged like my more expensive one piece longbows and recurves. Wow, I was quite surprised what good quality the Sage was. Great craftsmanship and beautiful wood work. I got the limbs that have “Samick Sage” printed in white, and handwritten in white ink along are the specs below it. So I guess I didn’t get a counterfeit made in China that says just “Sage”. My limbs look just like the pics in the “authentic” Sage posting. The limbs great quality no warping. It also came w a string and plastic screw in arrow rest. I’ll probably replace the arrow rest w just shelf leather or padding. But if you are new to archery use the arrow rest it comes w a few years as it makes targeting for someone new a bit easier. Everything fit together w perfect tolerance. Very very easy to assemble. I had the bow up and assembled, strung and ready to shoot in under 3 mintues first time through. There were no instructions included, but if you have ever had a takedown before is simple to figure out. No tools needed, but do recommend buying a stringer for $10 if you aren’t a very experienced archer and don’t use the step thru technique to string it. If you are new to archery there are a million videos online for how to put the Sage together. This bow shoots almost as well, I would say as well as my more expensive bows. If you are new to archery and want to get into it for a low entry point, this bow is the bow for you. Actually this is a bow you could use for a lifetime and would only need to upgrade for a prettier bow you like the looks of better. If there is a bow prettier? Happier w this purchase than I thought I would be.

Great Bow for Beginners, Women or Children!
I am not a bow expert in any way shape or form, and I really mean that, so lets get that established before this review starts. Prior to purchasing this Samick Sage takedown recurve bow, the last time I shot a bow and arrow, let alone even held one, was all the way back in my school days. And that was a few moons ago (notice the grandpa title in my name). That being said, I think this is a great beginners bow, or one for the ladies or even the kids. I purchased this being a small framed male under 150 lbs in weight to use and for my wife who is smaller than myself. The size, pull length and weight of the bow is just right for my size (5'8") and weight (150 lbs) and for the wife (5'6", do you really think I will put her weight up?). I have not had a chance to shot it for lengths of time at targets or at an archery course. But I have shot a few dozen arrows from the bow off the back deck. And I can say she performs well and shoots straight each time. Even at over 50 yards the bow can make a practice arrow stick in the side of our back yard shed. So even though the bow is only 35 pounds in pull strength, she does give a powerful shot. Now to the quality of the bow. The maple center of the bow is very nice, good quality and has a nice smooth finish to it. The black arms really compliment the maple center and gives it an expensive yet classy look. It took me a while to figure out how to string the bow, for as I said I am in no way a bow or arrow expert. But thanks to a few videos on YT I was able to get her stringed with the bow string that came included. The bow also has room to add all the gear one normally finds on a bow such as sights or what not. Items and parts that I am still studying and trying to figure out if I need or not for the level of shooting I plan on doing. If you are new to shooting a bow and arrow, or a small framed male, or a woman or a child. I would recommend this Samick Sage takedown recurve bow to you. I am very pleased that I purchased this bow over many others that I saw. I did shop around before purchasing this Samick Sagew recurve bow, and even made the mistake of buying a "hand made" one from China first (what a nightmare that was). So after shopping around, price comparing, review comparisons, and all that good stuff. I picked the Samick Sage recurve bow over the others and I am happy that I did. I hope to see many years of shooting fun for the wife and I with this bow.We were not paid nor discounted in any way, shape or form for giving our honest opinion here of this product as a review to assist others.
