Extend your outdoor time!
We have had this unit for a year and a half now. This thing is awesome and allows us to be outside when the temperature is over 95 or more all the way up to 110 if necessary. It blows cool air at around the mid 70’s. If I were to add a con, the low setting is still fairly aggressive but probably by design to push out cold air at the lowest setting. This allows us to use our outdoor space all summer long in the desert heat. Highly recommend.

Perfect for porches, garages, mancaves
I can’t be happier with this purchase. Works great, especially on the hot days. We put it on our porch and it cools it 15 degrees. Works better than the portacool unit we have on the back porch, which is 3 times the price and this one bit does the same thing. Depending on humidity outside, water reservoir last 6 hours before needing filled.

Works absolutely great
This swamp cooler was wonderful. Definitely did what it was made to. Water tank in the bottom was perfect to keep the air chill!

Amended: Works in the heat and humidity of NYC!
Amending my review below with three recommendations after a few summers using this swamp cooler in hot and humid NYC:One: This unit is effective if you remove the humidity it produces. You must have a window open to exhaust the air it produces and you should allow the cooled air from the unit to travel across your apartment to cool the ambient air before pulling and pushing the air out of the window using other fans, multiple fans. This is very important to drive the cool air out the window to remove the humidity. Two: You must use this unit earlier in the day to slow down and even stop any temperature increase, before the sun pounds down during the day. It can lower the temperature, but that is less effective in high humidity areas like NYC. You need multiple high volume fans to assist in pulling and driving the humid air it produces out a window. Start it early in the morning and keep running it to mitigate the rise in temperature during the day. I have used it to cool recently up to 100 degrees and it will make it bearable even on such days. At 100 outside, the floor in front of this unit is cool to the touch and so are you, but this is not the same as the cold dehumidified air from compressor driven AC units. I imagine this swamp cooler would be far more effective if used in dry areas out West in the High Desert. There is a dramatic loss in the effectiveness as the temperature rises through the high eighties into the nineties owing to the humidity factor, which is why I cannot overemphasize the use of multiple fans, preferably axial fans that can move a lot of air carrying the humidity out of your living space through an open window. Using this unit in the low eighties will cause you to to be cold, so there is a threshold in the high eighties and low nineties when it loses its effectiveness and your comfort will not be the same, which is why, again, the fans are so important to remove the humid air.My Challenge and Message to Hessaire and all engineers and folks who want to make a buck, a big buck: Design a portable unit that works on the same evaporative principle, but removes the humidity, and only produces cool dry air. Can you do it?Three: Use a dedicated bucket to refill the large tank with cold clean water. It is too many trips with a pitcher. Do not use a bucket used for other purposes to prevent contamination of the water in the tank, to limit the growth of anything in the tank and on the media, and not clog the water pump. I add highly diluted white vinegar and that retards the growth of anything in the tank.I purchased this unit at the beginning of Summer when my AC was out. Replacing the AC takes time in a NYC Co-Op, so this unit was exactly what the Doctor ordered,....literally. The early heatspell of nearly ninety degrees is dangerous to the health and this unit arrived just in time to cool things off, even in the humidity of NYC. Granted, this is not Houston or Tampa, as temps creep up toward a hundred, fans only would not suffice. This cools things down by an estimated fifteen to twenty degrees in half an hour or less. Up to eighty degrees, one only needs to use the fan on this unit. I am confident it will cool at a hundred degrees or more, a rarity fortunately in NYC. It may not be AC cool or cold, but it is cool like a spring breeze and the three speed fan pushes plenty of air around, especially if the swivel function is used. I only use it on the low setting and I am quite alright, even shutting the water evaporative function off in the evenings. It delivers and does so only drawing current for the fan and pump motor. It can save the life of an older person or one who has breathing difficulties. Just let it blow out a distant window or use another fan to pull the humid air out a distant window. It produces a lot of humidity and you should be well aware of this, because it can go through its large tank fairly quickly over a day. The noise level is acceptable on the low setting and it may not be the most attractive thing to look at, but it does its job well and the noise would be no issue in a garage or outdoors. Even if I give it four stars taken down by its looks and moderate noise, this is one of only a few items on Amazon I can so highly recommend. This is a unit all about the practical function of cooling. You get what you pay for and worth the going price.

Great patio cooler if your patio faces the Western Sun!
This gave us great relief! We are in South Texas, and July and August is brutal with blazing summer days. We can now enjoy our patio and have wondered why we waited so long to get this cooler. Easy maintenance and quiet enough to have a conversation while it’s running. We cook out a lot with our summer grilling, so sitting at the table with some drinks is now a nice alternative to having to stay inside. We love it and hope it lasts forever! Great product for hot patio solutions!

Product could cause mold build up and health risk
This product does not function efficiently as was described on the website. It blows very hot air and moisture that it exudes causes mold to build up especially when used in an enclosed place, such as a garage. Will never recommend it to anybody. I used this product in my garage and my garage became hotter than before it was used. Nobody can enter the garage when this product is in use. I had to stop using it just after 1 day. The moisture from this product can cause mold which can be a health risk. I give product a NO Star rating.

Good company - Easy No Hassle Return
I had one of these units 3 years ago. We used it for an event in a tent for 16 people on a very warm Miami day. It definitely kept things comfortable. It’s not an AC. But it did keep the air several degrees cooler. It’s a little noisy but a fair trade off. So after the event I gave to my son. Fast forward and a new event and I ordered another one. The day it arrived, my son brought his over to use for the event. So we decided to return. I read a review here where the company made it difficult to return. NOT SO! I did the return and received a FedEx code to drop off. Howver this box is super large and heavy. So I sent a message to the vendor that I needed a FedEx label for a pickup. Seriously, within 5 minutes they sent me a label. I called FedEx and they picked up the next day. So, I wanted to set the record straight. If you need to return within their return period, it’s really no hassle.

Not Air Conditioning, but does make summer bearable.
Good product and as a single room solution it works, but requires water frequently and you need ventilation otherwise the humidity will be a significant issue.
