DEWALT Dwa4219 Oscillating Carbide Grout Removal Blade

After using a grout saw to manually remove grout for so long... I can't believe how much better this blade is to use with an oscillating saw. In 4 minutes, I could get all the grout out of a 22*11 tile without scratching the edge of the tile. The blades are thin which is perfect. For the price these are perfect!

The blades are durable, but if you are working on larger grout lines 3/16-1/4 inch, it takes a lot of work to remove completely.I found this blade VERY useful for areas near the wall or under counters and detail sections, less so in the open areas where scrapers and saws are easier to use.

I bought this to remove grout and it does that just fine. (Just remember that most grout is Portland-cement based, which means you should probably have some breathing protection for the silicate dust, same as for concrete dust.) I have had it only a week and have been delighted to find that the scraper/sander combo made quick work of a job I would have spent hours on had I taken it on just last month, before I knew about this tool. I won't go on with the handiness since that comes through in so many review.A couple of other things in reaction to comments on the tool-changing lever and the light: I am a 120-pound 64-year old woman with probably average hand grip strength for my size/age and I don't have a problem with the tool-changing lever (I have seen other comments on this). I do have to stay focused when I use it. If my hands are really tired, I use the edge of a counter top to help. Light: others have said it's useless; I don't agree. It lights up the area only directly in front of the tool, though. So, for example, if you want to use the full area of the grout removal tool (front and sides), it doesn't help when you are using the sides of the grout removal tool. It can be a bit annoying to have the light bouncing around when it's not helping, but all in all, I'd prefer having the light.

I hesitated to buy this and another Dewalt grout blade because others had said they won’t work with a Dremel MM50, which is what I have. The package says it should so I tried it. It DOES work with the tool-free Dremel. There is a spacer hiding inside the paper package insert, with directions to stack the spacer with the blade. It fits on the Dremel just fine with the spacer added.

The Craftsman and DEWALT blades look similar, maybe they are made in the same facility, even the box and RFID tag are similar. Buy two Craftsman blades ($9.99) instead of one DEWALT ($16.99).
