POOR QUALITY --> DO NOT BUY
One Star is Way too Many! These deserve negative stars! They are garbage!I purchased THREE of these for my kids with plans for a Rocket day at the park. Perhaps my standards are way too high as I had expected them to actually work. Now I have three useless rocket sets and three very disappointed kids!About the pumps:- One pump broke before use. The glued on handle simply fell off when I pulled it out of the package! When I used the pump without the handle by pinching the shaft (of course, there is no way kids could do this, the end-plug launched out of the pump handle after about 5-strokes.- The second pump failed the same way as the first after about three cycles and then when we tried to use it without the handle, the little end-plug popped out too!- The third pump simply pulls the water out of the rocket. Really, it pulls the water out of the rocket and stores it in the pump!About the Rockets -- Well, none failed, but then they never really launched, did they?About the Funnels -- These worked great! Easy to use and actually did what they were supposed to do... the helped guide water into the rockets. So, if you're looking for a set of tiny funnels, this could be it!Our highest launch may have made it to 15-feet. The rest were to about 3-feet! This product is absolute garbage! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!! DO NOT BUY THEM AS THEY WILL NOT WORK AND ARE A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! I AM RETURNING THEM TO AMAZON!

Retro toy where Mom knows what's she's doing!
I bought this for my tween boys. First, they cannot share because even though there are three rockets, there is only one launcher. But eventually they took turns. It's a simple toy and we're seen many demonstrations of the concept at museums or hands-on science fairs. The kids knew what to expect, but getting there was harder than they anticipated. After a few minutes, they were ready to give up -- the rocket barely left the launcher, flying only 1-2 feet. Suggestions from dad when unheeded; and grandma chimed in that she had bought it for her boys and it never performed.Well, my brother had this toy and I knew what it could do (even though I was hardly allowed to touch it)! Aligning everything perfectly and squeezing the end valve while pressurizing, I got it to launch 8 feet on the first go. [that's when the kids reclaimed their toy because if mom can do it ... ]It's retro and totally analog -- and there's a trick to it -- and you can impress your kids, if you know the trick.Enjoy!

Kinda cheap...
Its an okay item. It has its quarks. To hard for a young child to pump successfully. Not as awesome as the original...

Defective Pump. Poor Fit & Finish.
The pump was defective right out of the box so we couldn't fly these.Overall, the fit and finish on these are pretty bad and the check valve inside the pump was not working. The sliding release collar on the pump would have been difficult for the little fella to pull while also keeping the rocket steady for launch.Water rockets are a lot of fun for the kids this time of year, so I'll keep looking for a higher quality option.

Rockets: 3 stars, Pump: zero stars. Use rockets with a vintage Parks Plastic pump from eBay
The red-and-white water rockets made by Park Plastics in the 1960s and 1970s were a joy, blasting hundreds of feet and far out of sight. Nostalgic parents will be deeply disappointed by this product, but this package still has some value if used with an original Park Plastics pump.As many other reviewers have noted, the pump that the Toysmith Aquashots Deluxe Water Rocket Set comes with is garbage. The Park Plastics pump of old had tight seals and metal fittings which could pump rockets to a high pressure. This pump is made mostly of plastic and starts leaking under any significant pressure. Using Toysmith's pump, rocket launches are a major fail, sputtering for ten or fifteen feet. So disappointing! The best way to use this product is to throw the pump away and pair the included rockets with an original Park Plastics pump. You can buy the original Park Plastics rocket sets on eBay. This will cost you a bit: even though millions of Park Plastics rockets were made back in the day, they have become highly collectible, and a set with rocket and pump will typically cost $30-$50 for a set in good condition. Lubricate the metal rod on the Park Plastics with 3-in-1 oil, and replace the pump's washer with a washer from Home Depot if the rubber has become degraded. Once you're set up with an original pump, you can blast the rockets included in this package far out of sight. The original Park Plastics pump will last a long long time, while the rockets eventually get stuck on rooftops or lost. This package, despite its lousy pump, will keep you well-supplied with replacement rockets.note: I was *not* solicited to write this review, and I bought this product with my own money. I received no compensation for this review and indeed I have no idea who the seller might be. I pride myself on writing unbiased reviews.
