Don't buy too much, because it's perishable. A pound is 3 to 7 years' worth of chemo adjuvant.
Hi. I'm subscribed for this purchase, like many others from Bulk Supplements. I endorse it 5 stars w/o getting any compensation. Be forewarned that - that otherwise happens here with other sellers and reviewers. I know because I've been solicited.Second - Value for money. This melatonin is $70 a pound, next best is a different brand online at $100 a pound. Next best is Micro...something on Amazon at $20 for 8 grams. All are made offshore. Imported. Unregulated. The Details - This powder is more stable dry, and best first dissolved in a tiny amount of ethanol, and is otherwise difficult to get wet, and the dry powder irritates my throat. Short lived after wetted. Keep it cool. Pulse. Myself, I Google'd it for typical 180mg. portions for lumps. One can get a capsule loading kit and gelatin caps here on Amazon, but I go with the ease of Everclear. Regarding scales, you get the quality you pay for. I go volumetric portioning for the simplicity. A different tiny spoon in every bag of powder. As to Quality - Understand that no labeling accuracy laws apply in the USA to nonfood nondrugs. That's right, expect content ambiguity. And that's why 3rd party lab certifications are so important, and why pill pushers get unwanted notoriety. No thing is ever as it seems. And no thing is ever pure.""US made"" often applies only to a USA assembly of foreign goods. Caveat emptor means "Let the buyer beware", an old legal concept regarding highly probable deceptions in the sales of goods. Follow me for more reviews. This platform blocks about half of mine as being too harsh. And that's after me spending thousands here. Still, I say buy Amazon for the 30 day return refund policy

Definitely worth it!
Normally, most Melatonin, whether capsules or tablets, and whether purchased online or in stores, come, generally, in 1 mg, 3 mg, 5 mg and, occasionally, 10 mg and costing between about $10.00 to $20.00 for, give or take, about 100 quantity. Unfortunately, the quality and accuracy of quantity is never assured thus leaving one to guess how any to take. Having taken Melatonin, on average about 20mg per night, for the better part of twenty years I can say that finding good quality Melatonin is a definite hit or miss proposition. One brand (going by their label) may require anywhere from 30 to 50 or more mg but, in point of fact, the actual amount taken, per results, is actually far less. Which is the reason for deciding to switch to the bulk form. After spending some days (and nights) reviewing what was available I decided that Bulk Supplements Melatonin would be a good candidate to try. As an initial test I went for the 10 gram (.35oz) bag of Bulk Supplement's Melatonin. Also, after reviewing, decided to, also, go for a bottle of 200 of Carlson's Empty Gelatin #2 Capsules (I chose this because the capsules came in a bottle; although, future may see bags which can be transferred to bottles and which are cheaper I larger quantity). Additionally, I opted for Synaptent's Disposable Antistatic Polypropylene Sample Transfer Scoop, 8-12 mg Capacity, Large, Blue (Pack of 100) FBA. "Heaping" amounting to about 20mg +/-. Finally, I chose the American Weigh Scales GEMINI-20 Portable MilliGram Scale, 20 by 0.001 G for weighing and measuring. Regarding all thee options I am most happy with. Now, then, as to Bulk Supplement's Melatonin; first, a comment as to the packaging. It came in a small zip lock baggie (which, as another reviewer noticed, the zip lock after only a few times, tore and was of little value. This, the small baggie, came inside a larger metallic zip lock baggy containing the label and, after folding over the inner baggie which was then repeatedly after each use, replaced inside the metallic baggie/envelope. This proved unacceptable for dispensing, i.e. "spooning" out of the baggie for insertion into a capsule (about 7 [i.e. 1 week's worth] capsules filled at a time. The smaller baggie is impossible to keep open while withdrawing a "spoonful"; also, I need to find some means to make the larger half of the capsules to remain in an upright position while setting on the scale being filled. I finally used an old small RX airtight jar which has answered one of those two problems. I strongly urge Bulk Supplements to switch from baggies to small jars that will sit upright and make it easier and less sloppily to work from. Finally, as to the Melatonin itself, and this is after only about two weeks now, I am finding that about 25mg per dose works quite fine for my needs. Now this must be tempered against my own body chemistry, about 30 other vitamins, minerals and supplements and several RX prescriptions I currently take daily for several years now. (I am, also, taking 5-HTP [capsule form] in tandem with the Melatonin; however, I recently ordered this in bulk from Bulk Supplement's but since that was only received today it will be about two weeks before a review can be made). As to the quality of the Melatonin, using the scale, I am finding, as previously mentioned, 25mg gives good-and calm-sleep with no detrimental side effects upon awakening. Others, depending on their own individual body chemistry etc make fid less, 5 or 10 mg perhaps, will be satisfactory for their needs, this can only be determined by individual trial and error. Fortunately, in these small dosages Melatonin is not something to be too concerned with as regards over dosage. If normal bottles of Melatonin (assume $15/avg per bottle for 100 tabs/caps then this 10 gram bag for $16.96 equals (for me, about 500 doses) about $75 or about a $60 savings. Obviously, for others needing, say only 10mg per dose, then the savings immediately jumps to about $100.All in all, I am most happy with this initial trial and am considering strongly looking into replacing many of my bottles of other vitamins, minerals and supplements (close to $400/mo) with the bulk alternative. Kudos to Bulk Supplements for making these items available; in addition to the purity and quality, the cost alone, especially for retired persons and/or those of limited budgets, is a very worthwhile alternative.

Terrible reaction to this product
I've been taking melatonin for a couple of weeks, and have had good results with it. I worked up from 5mg to the 40-50mg range. Response was linear. It made me sleepy and helped deepen my sleep. If I took too little I would pop another one mid-night, and if I took too much it soon wore off and I would take less next time. And so I decided to start saving money by buying in bulk. I give a lot of business to Bulk Supplements and have been very happy with them. So I bought this product, and I bought a .01ml scoop, which translates to between 10 and 15mg of powder. I figured three scoops would be in my range, and I wouldn't mind going a bit over either. One scoop two nights ago did not help me sleep at all, and I had mild palpitations. Then three scoops last evening put me into hard insomnia all night. I had extreme cold sensitivity, though it was not cold in the room, and heart palpitation again, and when I got up to use the bathroom I discovered significant neuropathy in my feet - something I haven't had in ages. It was then that I realized that my entire nerve system was under attack. The fact that this did nothing to help my sleep tells me that this product is different from the other melatonin I was taking. Something is very wrong here.Bulk Supplements really should allow returns when a product is defective. But be advised: returns are not offered here.I do not recommend this product.
