Glad to find these
Glad I found these to update my existing fixtures that were 40 years old, pitted, rusted and corroded. Perfect fit for my fixtures. Same size and function in all dimensions. Thank you for making these available. So much easier to change the fascia than to change the entire fixture. Now for some comprehensive details...In my house, the fixture above my kitchen sink is not frosted, whereas the 2 outdoor fixtures are frosted. So this design appears to have came in both configurations (decades ago). If you want a clear version, then either remove the frosting as mentioned by other reviews or have a hardware store cut a new piece of clear glass for you. Or use a piece of clear polycarb (but definitely use lower temp LED lights if you go the polycarb route).I also agree with others that the frosting on the glass is more excessive than the old frosted versions. The old versions blocked some light, these new ones block more. Unsure if the term "block" is correct. Perhaps "diffuse" would be more appropriate. About as much as a sheet of copy/printer paper. I prefer the frosted look, no glare, so I am not going to sand off the frosting as some have suggested. I guess I could swap over the glass (same size). All you need to do is bend the tabs to remove the glass. But my old glass inserts were scratched up from age. Instead I just upgraded from a 60W equivalent LED bulb (650 lumen) to a 100W equivalent (1000+ lumen). Now they are plenty bright. The amount of additional power used is trivial (a few watts more) but will produce much more light while retaining the frosted appearance. Just be sure to use LED bulbs rated for enclosed fixtures (cheap bulbs may not be rated and will live a short life). The white finish on the metal frame appears to be durable, similar to powder coating. Time will tell if these will hold up to outdoor use (sheltered from rain). Online specs say they are rated for damp locations, but not wet locations like a shower or pool. I suspect this has more to do with blocking water ingress (safety) than corrosion protection. These are not sealed to be water tight.

Great Update
I wanted to replace the trim only on a hallway light. I'm a retired electrician, IBEW, and familiar with Halo Lighting products, one of the best brands in the marketplace for aesthetics, quality, function and durability. The trim and glass are made to last. Very nice fresh and clean appearance. Suggest wearing fitted work gloves and protective eyewear, the torsion springs have a lot of tension. My only quibble was one of the torsion spring ends was slightly pointed inward, requiring a bit of small channelock action. It went in after a bit of cursing and manipulation. I'm very happy with the results and it was an exact fit for my existing fixture. You can comfortably walk under this fixture in a lower ceiling (8ft) without harsh glare.

Awesome Replacement Covers
These absolutely saved me from replacing light fixtures. This size is a little difficult to find, but fits the original light fixtures in my basement ceiling so I didn’t have to open up moreof the ceiling. Easy to install and Updated the look perfectly.

They worked for what I needed.
I bought these to replace two very old and rusted square metal trim pieces in my downstairs ceiling. Apparently, square recessed lighting is now outdated (the Home Depot near me didn't carry anything square lighting related), but rather than pay for new round can lighting and have to repair and re-cut new holes in my dry wall ceiling, I opted for the easier aesthetic fix of just replacing the square trim that's already up there with these.I was a little worried they wouldn't fit as these are not the same brand as the old housing I have up, but the measurements were the same and much to my delight when they arrived, they fit perfectly into the slots of my old housing. The outer trim is metal painted white but looks nice compared to what I had up previously. The square glass lens was not clear, but rather had a white coating of paint on the underside to dilute the light so keep that in mind when getting these if you're expecting clear glass. I was skeptical how that would affect the lighting of my downstairs, but with a new 60 watt energy saving (bright white) bulb in each fixture, they provided plenty of light in the room.My only complaint would be that they are a little pricey at around $18 for what I paid for them considering they are just the metal trim with a glass lens. But it was certainly cheaper and easier than putting up all new lights.

Gets the job done
Came as advertised. Easy to install, fit nicely and looks great.

Lens is too opaque.
This is a perfect replacement fit, however, the glass lens blocks about 80 % of the light, rendering the fixture useless. I had to replace lens lens with one that allowed light to pass.

Worked great!
It was the perfect size to replace the old one in my basement that was probably from the 70’s.

Too Heavy
The frame is too heavy for the spring hooks to hold it in the light recess. So unless you tape it up, there I'll be 1 1/2" gap between your ceiling and the cover. What a pain
