Does this look nice enough to use unpainted? I need to match preexisting white trim work, and I was hoping to get away with skipping a paint job.

I did not paint mine. I used it as a boarder on a electric fireplace. I painted the fireplace wood surrounding area white and used mounding around trim areas

Can this be used around a bathtub?

I wouldn't. Because of the ridges it will be difficult to seal.

Can I use this around a old mirror shaped like a arch?

Yes, it is like regular moulding but softer.
