Mine did not have black round stickers. Possibly these are Velcro stickers that you can put on the back?

Can you steam it to get rid of wrinkles?

If you're talking about the individual animals, I never noticed any wrinkles in them. The large green mat is folded during shipping so you probably could steam it from the backside to get rid of any folds, however it's pretty big and you'd have to figure out how to store it afterwards. I don't notice that it's a problem when we use it.

I already have a felt board for my classroom. Would these stick to any felt board other than the flannel provided?

Yes, they have a small strip of Velcro on the back; however, the Velcro is just sticky side taped on, so it doesn't stay in place well. I would suggest gluing, sewing, or just removing. They don't work as well if the Velcro is removed, but will stay without rough handling.
