Great product
My cat is very limited on the proteins he can tolerate, and turkey is the one he has no issues with.He is feed a homemade raw diet with a completer.Occasionally I feed him canned food. He LOVES this Instinct Limited Ingredient Turkey and has no tummy issues.I love the ingredients and feel good about feeding him this brand.I have reviewed many other top name brands and find this one seems to have the best limited ingredients on the market.

Very poor quality control
There is currently a huge shortage in canned prescription pet food which is why my vet recommended this brand since it is a single source protein. My cats seem like like the taste of this and even prefers it over the Royal Canin PR, but unfortunately the quality control of this product leaves a lot to be desired. The first can I opened up was super watery with the texture of baby vomit. The product smelled fine so I drained it and fed the solid portion to my cats - they ate it up fine. I also noticed that the food contained numerous small fragments (appears to be bones? but it's fragile enough where I can crush it with my fingers). I made sure to go through the entire can and pick out any larger pieces to so that it was safe for my cats. The second can I opened, I had to do a double take. I understand that there is peas in this formula but I didn't think that it would be that whole peas (counted about 6) would be part of this. Again this had the bone fragment issue and was not as wet as the first can but still pretty goopy (think about a 6 on the cat stool chart) with clusters of fat on top. I've bought many "lower" end brands of canned food and have never seen issues like that, and this products is pretty dang pricey compared to those. I'm already dreading about having to open up the 3rd can for dinner tonight and seeing what other surprise they have in store for us. Just the inconsistency in texture and content between the two cans really makes me feel uneasy about their quality control/assurance, this is much more than a "slight variation" in between batches type of issue . This is so far the only canned single source protein that I have found to be widely available so I will continue feeding my cats this mixed with the prescription food, but as soon as the prescription food is available again they will go fully back on that. My cats have ran the gamut in terms of trying novel proteins and hydrolyzed proteins so this rabbit is kind of all that is left for us to eat. If your pet have other options, I would stay away from this.

Cat loves it! Wish it didn't have pea protein.
My cat loves this food! We are currently working through an elimination diet for food allergies and she can only eat rabbit for animal protein. My vet and I agreed to try limited ingredient rabbit foods that I could purchase at the store rather than prescription due to the cost and lack of quality ingredients in the prescription pet food space. While this is not cheap, I really appreciate that fit the needs of being limited ingredient and only having one animal protein. The options for this are limited - many have fish oils or New Zealand green mussels which make them NOT a limited ingredient food so I'm grateful to have this one as an option. My cat is also currently eating foods by Rawz and Koha which are higher end, but she likes this one best. I appreciate that the Instinct cans always have the correct amount of food (by weight in grams) - the Koha and Rawz cans are always slightly short. My only complaint about this food is that it has pea protein. I personally don't think pea protein is a healthy choice for cat food; however, I will still buy this for her food rotation since it meets the most important standard of being limited ingredient and my cat enjoys it so much. For me this is a big enough complaint that I'm taking a star off just for this.I've had no issues with texture or dryness - the overall quality of each can seems consistent. Overall this is a really good choice for a LI diet food for a cat with allergies, especially considering the options are so limited.
