As described
Nice looking and good weight. Got as a photo prop so I can’t say how well it magnifies but it seems good

A REAL GLASS LENS & GOOD HIGH QUALITY THROUGHOUT AT A GOOD PRICE
This is a good all purpose magnifier. It has a classy appearance and a good wood handle. High quality throughout.Owing to the real glass lens it is heavier than the cheap acrylic lenses & it also has superior clarity and scratch resistance.A real glass lens is far better than plastic in terms of clarity and durability. This magnifier has a focal length of 6 inches, making it about 6.7 diopters which is a good strength for most uses. Also the price is VERY reasonable & I consider it to be a TRUE BARGAIN for such a high quality product. I have two of them & that tells my story here.If you are looking for a high quality glass magnifier I can give this one my highest recommendation.Don't be fooled by the low price. This is a high quality produce.

Its good enough for the price.
Ok magnifier. The optics aren't the best, but magnification is good and wide enough view to read plenty of print. The handle is solid and unscrews if you need only the round part.

It's perfect....
I had a bug issue on my plants. If you know anyhring about bugs and plants, you know most hard to see. This little, and it's not even little for real, magnifier works great! It's a perfect addition to my plant needs.Thank you!

Great Product; Great Value
Awesome little magnifier at the best price. Nice enough to keep in the living room. Better magnification (10X) than many similar (and more expensive) magnifiers that are only 5X. If this gets lost, I’ll buy it again.

Handle needs improvement
Extremely hard to hold -- the handle is too short and lightweight, not to mention slim and slippery, to counter the size and weight of the glass and the heavy metal rim. Every time that I try to pick it up, I drop it. While the handle is the same length as an older glass I have that I think belonged to one of my grandparents, the handle on that one is a fatter, sculpted wood that is easy to get a grip on, and the diameter of the glass is smaller, which I think gives it a better clarity, and the metal rim is lighter weight. This model either needs a longer, heavier handle (preferably thicker and more ergonomically shaped, or with some added texture that would provide a better grip) or a smaller lens surface to be properly balanced. When you unscrew the top part from the handle, you can immediately feel that the handle is hollow, like the plastic shell of a ballpoint pen. If there's any wood here, it's an incredibly thin veneer. (From the product description, it sounds like you might get a metal OR a plastic frame? Honestly I think I would have been happier with the plastic , the lighter weight would have given this a better balance.) The magnification seems about right, you need to experiment to find the correct distance to hold this away from something to get the best result -- there'll be a "sweet spot". As I said, the clarity is not quite as good as my smaller diameter magnifier, but I've got extremely low vision to start with and think this one would be fine for people who just need small type or images enlarged but not sharpened. I'll probably keep this if I can improve the grip -- I was thinking wrapping a leather thong around the handle might do it. And I'll give it a field test in the store when I go shopping, which is what I wanted a second one for, to read price and size tags and cooking instructions on food products, etc. Might update with results of that. The mentioned cleaning cloth wasn't included, but I've got ones for my glasses and computer screen, that isn't a big deal to me. You can get a two pack at the dollar store.Update: Wrapping the handle with a leather thong (with glue underneath to secure it) worked well to improve the grip; it's still unbalanced but I no longer drop it and it looks nice too. Tried it at the store, it helped me to read some food labels but unfortunately wasn't enough to make the tiny type on clothing labels visible. I think I need to look for something with a smaller diameter glass for that, or a higher magnification -- except so far all the higher magnification glasses I've seen have been those huge ones with a lighted rim, which I don't want and which wouldn't fit in a pocket for use at the store. This one, in fact, might be a bit big when wearing any of my women's pants with their small pockets; I happened to be wearing my men's flannel lined jeans with their deep pockets today. Also, when I was wrapping the handle, I noticed that the rim isn't deep enough to protect the glass from getting scratched when laid down; be careful with that. It comes in a little bubble wrap open top bag which would probably protect it when not in use but is kind of a pain and looks ugly and will probably get lost at some point. If you plan on keeping this out on a desk, I'd recommend finding a box with a removable lid to keep it in, and line the bottom of the box with some velvet or other soft material -- a bit of corduroy or flannel, perhaps? Maybe wrap it around a piece of cardboard cut to fit in the bottom of the box, secure on the backside with glue or some double sided tape.

Worth every penny.
I ordered this so I could read the cabin numbers in the cruise brochures, it has exceeded my expectations and works better than I had hoped for. Looks nice too.
