The media could not be loaded. This replaced an over-the-range microwave/fan combo that was only effective for the rear burners since it only covered half the stove. The PS38 covers the front burners and is very effective at drawing in smoke and odors.Installation was very straightforward but definitely requires a helper unless you have a way to elevate and hold the hood in place while attaching the screws. I think it weighs close to 50 lbs so arms and shoulders tire out quickly holding it above your head.I had to reach out to customer service because the hood vibrated at fan speeds 3+. It was enough to cause my sheet pans stored above to buzz and rattle. I sent Hauslane a video showing that the squirrel cage impellers wobbled a good bit so they immediately sent out new replacement impellers. They were easy to replace and solved the vibration issue.At low speeds (1 or 2) the fan is very quiet. It helps that there are 2 fans since they don't have to spin as fast as a single. The LED lights are bright and illuminates the area very well and the bulbs are easily changed out without tools. The GU10 bulbs are easy to find at Home Depot/Lowe's with a selection of brightness and color temperature. The stainless finish looks great and it comes with a microfiber cloth that does a very good job of removing smudges and fingerprints. Suction is excellent but I haven't tried the true test yet with a steak and ripping hot cast iron pan.My list of cons is pretty short and minor:1. There is only one illumination level (bright). With the old microwave I often would leave the light on low overnight so I didn't have to turn on the main lights to see.2. I'm nitpicking but I don't like that the clock has a zero in front of single digit hours, eg. 01:15. When glancing quickly at it or from a distance it takes a moment to determine if it's a zero or a one.3. You can't turn the light or fan on without hitting the power button first. The power button does however turn off both the light and fan when powering off.So far I have no regrets choosing this model, but it's only been a couple weeks.

I attempted to install it with two other people, and it was still extremely challenging. After struggling for hours, I found that the best installation method was to first secure two screws on each side of the range hood at the desired height. This helps hold it in place while you install the four required screws at the top. Alternatively, using cabinet jacks would make the process much easier. Received it today. It's solid and well built. Be prepared for a very challenging installation. I hired a handyman and we both struggled to hold it up and drive the screws through. It's a 37 lb. unit so it's not a lightweight to install. For the back screws we had to almost lie on top of the stove in order to see the holes. It's beyond me why such an expensive product does not come with a bracket that you first screw into place and then either clip or slide the unit on to the bracket. Kind-off a mini-split A/C unit gets installed or even Ikea wall cabinets.As far the functionality goes it's easy but annoying to operate. You first need to turn the display panel before you can turn on either the extractor or the lights. Why make me press 2 buttons? The manufacturer should get rid of that power button and simply have the display panel on at all times. The instructions leave out a few of the very important features such at the auto-off timer (hold the power button for about 5 seconds).I like the fact that you can steam clean the blades. That is a built in function. The unit comes with a water reservoir that you fill up whenever you want to steam clean the fans. The reservoir hooks on to the back of the unit and the process takes 3 minutes to do the cleaning.Another neat touch is the that lights are all the way at the front but angled back. This is a great feature for short people as it avoids having the lights shine in your eyes.

Excellent range hood!!! This range hood has excellent power and really sucks the smoke and steam from cooking. It looks amazing and easy/convenient to clean. Feels solid and well built. Would highly recommend!!!
