Serious Pencils for the Professional.
Absolutely love these Pencils,l have bought several makes of Coloured pencil in the last year or so and the quality can be very uneven, not so with Faber Castell. The quality of these well established German Pencils is amazing. The colour, brightness, brilliance, texture and comfort of use is astounding,a beautiful pencil that does not come cheap but the result is worth it,not once did l find a "breaker" ( you have a broken lead, you sharpen and it breaks again and again until the pencil disappears! ) l found this often with the cheaper made pencils but with Faber...Never. A Superior pencil that comes in a gorgeous green box case and is a real pleasure to draw with, 5 stars.

A great pencil for both novices and professionals
I bought these a few months ago as a present to myself. I have always enjoyed colouring in, and the new wave of colouring books for adults has bought back a passion in me.I was really uncertain due to the price, but with some research felt these pencils would be the best for me. I tend to colour in hard, and like a fine point on my pencil for most colouring. These hold up brilliantly, and although I get the occasional breakage on a point, they are generally long lasting. No real issue with different sharpeners so far.The gift box these come in is great. I can quickly pack the pencils away when I am finished colouring and the magnetic latch stops any accidental spills. I accidentally spilled some acetone on the box whilst doing my nails, and although I lost some green colouring off the faux leather, the box still works and it protected the pencils. As some of the pencils shorten, I imagine it may become more difficult to get certain pencils out.The pencils themselves are wonderful. They don't smudge whilst colouring, and blend brilliantly. If you are a novice like myself to artist quality pencils, these are a great start.

Beautiful pencils. Lovely quality item.
I've not used coloured pencils for many years so I'm no expert but I think I can recognise a quality item. They are very well made and finished, lovely to use and sharpen well. I bought the Faber Castell snap open triple sharpener which works perfectly with them. They sharpen to a good point and colour lays down well. I like that I can add to my set by buying single colours so that was a consideration when choosing this set. Really pleased with them. I suppose one thing that I do notice about them is that they have quite a strong pencil smell which is nostalgic but so strong. If you're sensitive to smells as I am, you might not like it. I'm hoping it will wear off with use.

Great quality pencils
Can layer it easily and mix colours seamlessly, perfect for details and the pencils themselves are very high quality with no breakages in the pencil led.

Case rubbish pencils great
These are my favourite colouring pencils and I prefer them over prisma as the finish is so much better plus I can sharpen these to a fine point. No matter how I try I can't get prisma pencils to do this.I use them for adult colouring books. Just wish they were not so expensive! If these pencils are for private use and not a gift I would buy them without the case if it works out cheaper. I soon grew tired of having to pull each one out to find the pencil I wanted. This has now been discarded and I use a carry case to store them instead.

I've been using these pencils since May and I absolutely love them. The pencils are oil based and exceptionally well made. I've had no problems sharpening them using a Faber Castell sharpener and they blend really well.I spent quite a lot of time looking at coloured pencils before deciding on Faber Castell Polychromos, I'm very, very happy with my choice.I wanted to get the 120 set, but due to cost decided to start with the set of 36. I wish I'd gone with my heart rather than my head as I've spent quite a bit of money buying individual pencils and there are still colours I want to add to my collection. My advice would be to buy the largest set you can afford, you won't regret it.

Best I’ve used
Well the saying of you get what you pay for, you do with these! I’m not a professional as in sell my art, but I enjoy in my spare time now and again having a go, and I bought quite a few different brands just lately of colour pencils to try and get into doing realistic art rather than watercolour, and so far all have been poor quality- almost snapping the nip to get colour onto the paper! you don’t have to do that with these, they literally put colour on the paper! With a nice vivid colour and they blend really well.I wish I hadn’t wasted my money with the others I’m just going straight to these.. If you’re looking for colour pencils don’t waste your money in time buying any other type a professional told me to go with these and I strange with others, these are the ones.
