Works for a novice installer
I installed it as soon as I received it by following a YouTube video. You do need the right tools. I recently purchased a precision tool kit on Amazon and had everything I needed. While not all of the steps were as smooth for me as they were for the person in the video, it was still fairly easy and it now works perfectly. I no longer have to listen to the voice telling me low battery and please recharge. I don’t have any review of their longevity but they do work. Plugging in the USB is somewhat stiff, so I will need to be careful when charging my headphones.

def try this before buying a new pair of headphones
absolutely the perfect fix and saved me some much money. It was such a simple fix just watch a few videos on youtube and it should be fairly simple.also may need a universal/electronic tool kit from walmart or amazon and it will assist with the small pieces involved.

Pitiful QA
This package contains what you see in the picture. I did not get to installing it, in fact did not take it out of the ESD bag. The tools it came with were defective - the philips screwdriver was either not tooled at all, or was cast the wrong way. The pry tool was already going to break halfway through the first earmuff. It started to bend.---With this quality issue of the accessories, I will not trust the quality of manufacture of the electronic charger circuit and left it in the ESD bag. It will not be going into my 1000XM4. Again, the circuit may be fine, but I'm not going to take that risk.--Cheap shot: It's funny how the ez-tear niches on the ESD bag are located above the vacuum seal and thus useless. When it comes to circuitry, I gotta find a more reputable brand.

Saved me $200!!
My headphones stopped charging completely, and after further inspection I found that my charger port had been corroded.I bought this replacement in hopes of recovering my headphones and it worked like a charm! I used my own precision screwdrivers to fix and the LED indicator turned on again!

Worked for 4 months and broke again.
Bought it to fix my Sony headphones which would not charge. Followed instruction from an online video and it worked. I was able to charge the headphone for almost 4 months and then it broke again. Giving it 2 stars since it did work initially but would have loved for it to last more.

EZ Fix
Worked perfectly, replacing a board that literally smoked and melted. Headphones are good as new except the melted plastic around the charge port.I can't believe people are complaining about the screwdriver. Yes it's garbage and shouldn't be included, but I didn't buy this for the screwdriver. If you want to attempt this repair you should already have a good set of precision screwdrivers.

Made Expensive Sony Headphones Like New Again
After my Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones stopped charging I was just about to spring for a new pair because I had become accustomed to the sound quality, noise cancellation and comfort of these headphones. But before buying another pair I decided to do some internet research on the no charging issue. Turns out that this is apparently a common problem and that many users had reported that replacing the charging port solved the problem. After viewing one particularly detailed YouTube video on replacing the charging port I decided that it was worth the price of the new charging port to at least try it. Be advised that the parts are very small to work with but with a little patience almost anyone should be able make the repair. The hardest part was reattaching the ribbon cable to the new port. In the video the guy used his hands but I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the cable properly inserted into the new port. Once done I plugged in the charger and just like magic the red charging light came on and now my headphones work just like the day I bought them. This port replacement is definitely worth a try before buying a new pair.
