Q: I always use a 35 1.8 on my Nikon D7000. Will this be a worthy improvement for me?

Hi Mominflorida,It will depend on what you shoot, honesty if you love shooting with the 35mm focal length it is a great upgrade if you want the extra sharpness and contrast however, The 35mm 1.8G is already a great travel lens to carry around. You have to keep in mind the Nikons 35mm 1.8G is half the weight of the Sigma 35mm meaning that it is not the best lens to travel around, its a big/heavy piece of glass 700g about. The Sigma Art in my mind perform superbly on high megapixel cameras. I am not sure how it would perform on a D7000. On the other hand if you only have the 35mm 1.8G you could pay the same amount for a different prime lens such as 85mm 1.8G which is also a great combo with the 35mm. In end if you are thinking of purchasing the Sigma 35mmART, I highly advise getting the usb dock since when I got mine, it had front focusing issues. Thats the bad part of 3rd party lens manufacturers majority of the lens have focus issues on almost every single camera body. hope it helps :)
