Gerberit Quality product
Bought as a replacement for my old Gerberit 280 unit that leaked after 10 years. Comes with a variety of fittings (I did not use) as I used the plastic coupling already in the cistern. The design is almost identical to the old unit.

Good quality, no more water hammer!
Had bad water hammer with Tece concealed cistern (upstairs toilets are refilled by pump, not mains supply). Did a lot of research about fill valves and potentially was even thinking I’d need a water hammer arrestor. Bought this and replaced Tece valve with this one and water hammer gone! Yaay, no more banging noises after toilet refills! Feels like a lot better quality than valve it replaced.

Super-easy to fit
Excellent quality, easy to fit - repaired a broken toilet in 10 mins and saved myself around £100Edit: another loo started leaking/overflowing - Bought another one of these and fixed it in a jiffy.

Superb quality from Europe
It works perfectly and is clearly a quality product compared to most similar valves. It comes with various alternative fitting connections and the only observation I would makes that the instructions are of the "Universal picture" style without words and if you are not familiar with plumbing work, they might confuse as to which you use etc. Use the diagrams but maybe include written instructions in say 4/5 common European languages. Over all though, this is an excellent product.

Stopped the trickle
Modern toilets have this neat way of not dampening the outside wall with a dripping over-flow (with the potential for flooding if an icicle forms and blocks the hole in winter). If a valve fails now, the drips or slow trickle just run almost unnoticed and harmlessly into the pan. However, if you are on a water meter this silent leak can give you a nasty shock if neglected for long. But, in spite of the complicated look of this bit of kit, when compared with the old rubber disc type washers, you do not need a plumber if you are prepared to try a bit of diy. My husband found it easy to take out the old valve, identify it from the on-line pictures and fit the new valve. It's now a few weeks later and it is still doing its job OK.

A valve to fill you flush with happiness.
I have to say of all the filling valves, be they side, top, or even bottom entry I've ever had the fortune to have in my toilet cistern. The Geberit Unifil 240700001 is certainly top five. Though it comes in only one colour (perhaps a choice would have been nice) it's certainly a stylish looking contraption. The way that it allows water to flow into the cistern until hitting the requisite volume and then shutting off is textbook stuff, but seldom have I seen a filling action quite as effortless. There's hardly any splash, and a lovely smooth transition from filling to none filling.I would definitely recommend to family and friends.
