I want a board for my 10 yr old, he is a beginner but I know he will want to move on to doing tricks, will this be suitable?

This is a great first time board, good for learning to cruise down the road and link nice turns together. The wheels are nice and soft and roll well over the ground. For learning tricks you probably better with more of a ramp style board designed to go in both directions but usually the wheels are harder and will need smoother surfaces to play on.

If i’m buying this board, is it advisable to buy the t tool that’s also advertised? how much would i need this tool as a beginner skater?

I don’t think you will need it, if you have basic tools at home you’ll be just fine .

It is a small cruising board, not really good for ollies and kick flips. It is more like the old 70’s shape boards.

how's carving on this?

Iv had to put risers pads on to be able to carve on this, since doing that carving has become alot more comfortable! Hope this helps.
