Fabulous bit of kit
My go to for every job.

Great for awkward screws and general use.
This is a really nice bit of kit. The black collar-piece slides up and down, locking into place so you can switch it between 'standard fixed extender' mode and 'universal joint mode'. I tend to keep using this even when I just need a fixed extender as it has a decent magnet which will give a firm hold to both your bit and your screw. Of course it comes into its own when adjusting an awkward screw, for example close to a wall / cupboard side, or tucked behind the strut on a shelving bracket. You simply slide the collar into the 'flexible' position, then maintain a firm grip on the collar to keep the bit in place while the rest of the unit spins round. This means you can use an electric screwdriver in places where it simply wouldn't fit otherwise - super handy.Note that this will only bend 20 degrees, so you still need some space in the general direction of the screw. If you need to get at a screw where you have side access but very little working space in the screw direction you might find a 90-degree bit like this more helpful:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01C2O1LAE/... but I prefer the DeWalt most of the time.

So far so good
Overhaul impression is goodSeems to be a quality item. Only used briefly but very likely to be a very useful addition to my tool box where access to a fitting is limited. Would recommend this item

Useful but with some limitations
Firstly, this is the usual DeWalt high quality. It is designed to either be used like a regular bit holder, or with the bit head pivoted slightly from true, allowing access to otherwise difficult to reach screws. To do this the black band is slid up, releasing the bit holder. Note though it only pivots about 20 degrees, so still needs access. If you are hoping work in cramped or confined spaces this is not the tool you need. When using it at an angle you hold the black band to push the bit into the screw when operating your drill as usual. Here is the first problem, namely that you need 2 hands to operate the drill, one to hold the screw and potentially another to hold the item you are fixing. The other issue I have with it is that it defaults to the straight ahead mode if you let go of the collar. It can be frustrating therefore when, as you manoeuvre the screw into position you let your grip loosen on the collar the the thing snaps back into straight mode, requiring your to pull out and start over again.Overall, a useful piece of equipment for certain tasks, but not perfect and probably not essential.
