RTD Temperature Probe Sensor, Replacement for Traeger Digital Thermostat RTD Probe, Sensor Thermometer Compatible with Traeger Pellet Grills

It took 7 years of flawless operation, but my smoker finally had hit the dreaded "Her" code. Working with Traeger support they suggested it was this module that needed replacement, however they wanted $99 for the module plus an additional $40 for the temperature probe. Quick search on Amazon and I landed here.Smoker heats up fast, controls the temperature better than the controller I just took out, and a cleaner shutdown (pot is much cleaner).Yes, you need to adjust for the size of smoker (instructions included) and adjust for the internal temperature vs. what is dialed in on the controller. I used a internal temperature probe to get actual internal temp and adjusted according to the very good instructions on how to dial it in for my smoker.One item to note, you MUST tie off the wires from the controller so it does not interfere with the fan on the auger...use the zip ties included with the controller and use your eyes, and tie them away from that fan (if the fan cannot spin freely, you will get an error and the smoker will stop). If you have zero mechanical ability, replacing this yourself may not be a good idea :)

I like my Traeger Pro-22, but the OEM controller was crap. Set temps would routinely fluctuate +/- 75 degrees or more. "Smoke" setting was almost worthless. Instead of holding 160-180 degrees (per Traeger manual), it would either flame out or otherwise climb as high as 300, sometimes ruining the meat. Tempted to return the smoker, but it made more sense to try an aftermarket controller. Very happy with the YAOWE product. Easy installation, perfect fit. Set-temps now maintain within a narrow range, usually +/- 15 degrees. Best feature of this controller is the adjustable "P" setting, only active while using the "Smoke" setting. Allows you to customize the control for your own grill, & adjust for weather conditions. Have run it for 9 months now, & dozens of cooks. Flawless performance both winter & summer, from subzero temps (& wind) up to 90 degree evenings. Adjust the 'P' setting up or down dependent on outside temps, & it holds smoke temp between 155-185. Very pleased with the product, and find it to be an exceptional value. Highly recommend.

I have a Lil’ Tex (BBQ070). I guess this is not the “special edition”. Controller wouldn’t fit. I used an angle grinder and widened the opening about 1/4” and got it installed. Works good, but I did get two LEr codes while warming up the smoker. After it got up to temp, worked fine.

This is a great replacement for our Traeger, worked perfectly.

Worked great for about 3 cooks then went dead. Plugged the other probe in and it was reading incorrectly right away. Wouldn’t calibrate either. Waste of money…

Easy installation, up and running with accurate pit temps

These are a great, inexpensive addition or replacement of a Traeger probe(s). I have a 22 and they work as well as OEM.
