Update: I’m not changing my star rating because this stuff does what it claims. It will lay your hair down like nobody’s business. But it is heavy and it will leave a haze on your hair. I felt a little self conscious at work wondering if anybody noticed. It also leaves your hair very shiny which I’m not fan of… my final thoughts on it? Use it if really needed but in moderation. The strong smell is concerning. I also saw on the container where this is manufactured in Korea.I have very resistant and could hair. I guess it would be considered 4c but it has thinned out so much as I’ve gotten older that I think 4c is a little misleading. Thinner hair is a lot easier to control and deal with so I just want to make that disclaimer.This edge control definitely works. I would say it works better than the very popular brand that comes in a lot of variations … like extra hard, extra firm etc etc.I’ve learned to trick is to not manipulate the hair once it’s applied. Combing or brushing after application causes it to lift and not work as well. I used this at 8:30 this am and it’s 2pm. My hairline is still plastered down.Now, the drawbacks is it is gummy. I only use this when I’m close to wash day. I wouldn’t use this on my freshly washed hair. Also the scent isn’t great. It smells like a cheap men’s cologne. And the smell lingers. It’s been practically a full day since application, and I can still smell it.It’s on the shiny side but I just take a towel and try to lightly pat it to take some shine away.Overall, it does what it says. You won’t be disappointed with the hold. It really lasts all day. And I didn’t use a scarf or anything. Merely brushed my hair back into a ponytail. And then applied this around my hairline and went to work.

I have tried for years to find an edge control product that works for my thick, coarse, and now gray hair! Until now, all of my efforts failed. I’m super excited to have found this product. I apply it as directed, and my hair stays in place all day. I will definitely continue ordering, and perhaps later I’ll also share photos of how well it works on my hair.

Really durable and last

This hair gel is really strong and durable. After using it to braid the hair unlikr other gel that don't last long and does not retain the hair as much. This gel helps retain the roots of the hair. It does not look oili to the scalp and is apealing to the hair.

So far this is the best edge control I’ve ever used. There is no white cast when it dries or through out the day if you disturb the edges. It actually holds my 4c edges all day like right to bedtime. It doesn’t hold thru sleep if you don’t tie your edges down and i haven’t been. Haven’t tried tho to see if they would last till the next day but i suspect they would. No strong smell. Feels moisturizing not crunchy and dry. Ive used for about a week now… in a rush just slapped it on. Didn’t bother to tie down or anything and my edges are still in place! Can’t speak for how it will work in summer tho this is still fairly cool weather i.e no sweat.

Pleasant smell. A little goes a long way. This will become my new staple for braiding and twisting my kids' hair, as well as laying down edges to finish it off.
