I recently purchased the Schleich Dinosaurs Volcano Expedition Base Camp Playset and it has quickly become one of my favorite items in our toy collection. My son got this for Christmas and it is truly amazing! Overall I would say it’s a really well thought out toy, decent size, well-built, and sturdy. The smaller pieces like the guard rails and plants can come out easily but it hasn’t hindered play in anyway. While I didn’t bother to fuss with the lights for the volcano rock balls (so I can’t say if they work) every other feature works and is truly incredible! The sounds, the lights, the smoke - unlike any other toy we’ve had. My son also got some Indiana Jones toys for Christmas and has been using those with the volcano as well. I really couldn’t recommend this enough and plan to gift this to others in the future.Take note: for the smoke to work, I had to press down a few times on the white cotton cylinder that comes out of the water tank reserve in order to get it going (like the first time you use a paint pen).

The dinosaurs in this set seem to be well built and high quality. Unfortunately that’s the only good part. The volcano and everything that attaches to it is flimsy and poorly constructed. All the fences, bridges and leafs that attach to the volcano constantly fall off and end up all over the floor. Save your the trouble and just order a pack of dinosaurs.

The steam does not work. I have added all necessary batteries and followed the directions. I reached out to Schleich customer service in December and exchanged quite a few emails about this issue. Eventually they decided to send a replacement on December 30, 2024. Still haven't received it. I was excited to try out a Schleich brand toy for my kiddos, but the quality is lacking and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I don't recommend this toy.

I got this almost half off of regular retail price on Amazon for my dinosaur and Volcano loving sons birthday. He got it a day early when my Mom and I worked on his volcano cake. He played with and still plays with it for hours. He loves that it vibrates and lights up and shoots little balls from the top. It's actually pretty big. A lot bigger than the box itself is, because you have to put it together. It's taking up a big chunk of his room but he loves his dino corner. It wasn't fun putting it together but once it's together, it stays together pretty well. Transporting it, it did fall apart a little but it was easy enough to put back together. The little pieces on and around it fall along a lot but my son likes to rearrange it so it works out anyway. Super worth getting. It's fun to watch him play with it. It's his go to in the morning and before bed.

The media could not be loaded. Awesome toy for dinosaur lovers. If you have any trouble with the smoke/mist, just take it out and prime the button a few times and it made ours start working. A few of the railing falls off easy but it still awesome. We may superglue the railing to it.

This playset is great! love the features, playability, and I can't wait to attach it to the Schleich Large Dinosaur research Station after I purchase that! Oh just so all of you know do not throw away the small White tube like I did. It is what allows the steam feature on the volcano. Just beware of that! it also came before Christmas! I am and was very pleased!!!

My boys love dinos and we were so excited to give this to them for Christmas. I can't believe how much it falls apart and doesn't function like it's supposed to. It's just disappointing how cool it looks like it will be and then doesn't even work.
