Looks Nice, Well Designed, Works Well
I got this Aowel 2 Heat/ 1 Cool Non-Programmable Thermostat to replace a Honeywell. Not only does it look better, but it is programed much better and that has made all the difference. My main complaint with the Honeywell is that did not allow me to program the deadband and I was having a hard time finding a thermostat which would. The deadband is how far from the set target the thermostat will allow the temperature to stray. So, a deadband of 1 degree will allow the interior temperature to move from 65 to 67 when set at 66 degrees. This is more efficient for gas furnaces, better of the longevity of your HVAC system, and (I find) provides superior general comfort. Having the heat kick on every 10 minutes is not desirable. But that is exactly what the old thermostat was doing. The Aowel thermostat is easy to program and and looks a little nicer than average. The deadband adjustment works and is easy to set and change. My Aowel thermostat was reading about 2 degrees below the actual temperature after I installed it. But you can set a temperature offset for the thermostat as well - so now it's accurate. What a sensible feature that so many other thermostats seem to overlook for some reason!Overall I am very pleased with this thermostat. It has common sense adjustments that are hard to find from other manufacturers. It has been working perfectly for me for about two weeks. And It looks better than the average thermostat for a fraction of the cost.

Works well easy to see
Looks and works well, nice large display, great for accessory building or large room (good for a green house since it has a large humidity display too)

Great price for a well-made Non-Programmable thermostat!
Previously had a Honeywell 6200 programmable thermostat that we never needed to program. The problem was unless you pressed the little button and had it hold your set temperature, it would always revert to the factory program that was set up and you just couldn't shut off the programming feature. It was pretty aggravating. Just wanted a non-programmable thermostat for my heat pump which also has emergency heat selection which was hard to find. Check the big stores and everything they had was more complicated or pretty expensive or the non-programmable thermostat had a tiny screen. Took a chance on this thermostat took my time matched the wires and letters from my old thermostat to the new thermostat and now it's up and running and easy to set. The display is big and easy to read and lights up. The batteries are easy to get to and change and I was surprised how well this was made for a low price.

Halfway pleased -- setting switch sucks
Got this Aowel 2 Heat/ 1 Cool Non-Programmable Thermostat to replace an inferior unit I had in my house. I was attracted to this unit because of the large high contrast easy to read display BUT that's where it ends. The damn setting switch is way too small to mange easily. Is it on the off or heat position? VERY hard to tell without a magnifying glass. There is a very small text in the display that shows "off" but even that is so small I need a magnifying glass to read it. Going to take time to get used to that switch. At least the temperature display is large enough to read, even without my reading glasses, but NOT ILLUMINATED so the room has to be well lit to be able to read the room and desired temperatures. Also very good at honoring the desired temperature setting. If the room and desired temperatures are at 76 and I change the setting to 75 the furnace shuts down almost immediately, as it should!SPECIAL NOTE: be aware you must use the EMH setting for heat if you have electric central AC and separate central gas heat like I do.EMH = "EMergency Heat" Intended to take over when the heat cycle on your heat pump is not adequate to heat the house, you manually switch over to the EMH (gas heater). In my case, I have no heat pump -- just a standard central cooling air conditioner and central gas heat.Very Happy with performance but I really hate that tiny selector switch.[UPDATE] Been working great since I got it. Those big easy to read digits are not so easy to read unless the room is very well lit -- ther is no backlight, and if there was it would run the batteries down faster so it's a compromise, but at least I don't need a magnifying glass to read the temp setting. Speaking of batteries, I am using rechargeables and only swapped them out once since the installaion so it is not a battery eater.
