different buttons
Great devise but I wish the buttons were more defined to the touch. It's too easy to push the wrong button.

Would not recommend
Had this connected to a sony a1 swinging around on a small Jib, and it worked fine for a couple takes and then it just stopped working/responding to the remote 1/3rd of the way through the job. Changed batts and angle of the receiver and it still would not work consistently. Would not recommend this device.

Works very well
A little pricey, but all functions work extremely well with my HDR - CX405 Sony camera. I love how slow and steady the zooming feature can work; and it will go faster as well. Haven't pushed the distance near the limit of 100 meters and probably never will.

Works great with Sony AX-43
Very easy to setup and use. Do follow the setup instructions carefully. Thee is a sequence of pairing the remote with the receiver. It would be nice if the remote came with batteries for the price. Overall pleased with it!

Using on Sony HDR-CX405 as End Zone camera.
Got this to use on a Sony HDR-CX405 as an End Zone camera, because that model camera does not have a simple straight forward way of seeing the tally/record indicator on a field monitor. The description for this remote said it has a tally/record light, which is what we needed... an easy way to see if we are recording or not at any given time. However, the tally/record indicator is only on the receiver. The receiver shows solid green to indicate the unit is powered up and ready, then goes red to indicate recording when you press the button on the remote. The light on the remote blinks a bit when you first power up, but after it has found the receiver it is solid green all the time. The light on the remote only indicates power and connection status. Not really a big deal for most folks, since they are not standing about 25 feet directly below the camera they are operating. We just had to get used to glancing up to confirm it is recording, and it took a couple tries to figure out the best place to mount it so the light is always visible looking up from below, regardless of how the camera is tilted up or down at any time.Overall, a good unit, does what it is supposed to, and you can use it to turn your camera on and off. For most folks that may not be a major feature, but on the end zone setup, that lets us conserve camera battery during halftime without having to collapse a 20-something foot tripod.
