I had no problem replacing a factory latch with this one. Line up great!

Thousands of entry locks and deadbolts have been sold under the Brands of Defiant (Home Depot) and Gatehouse (Lowes). Broken latches have until now, resulted in replacing the whole lock for lack of replacement parts. These entry latches and deadbolt latches are identical fit replacements if you have either of these brands. I had a failed entry latch on my door going into my garage. Literally had to cut it out with a hacksaw. New latch fixed the problem and fit perfect. I bought extra since I replaced all the entry locks, deadbolts, and privacy locks with Defiant locks in a renovation of my house. Glad to find these.

Was not universal latch. Hole was too small for the rod of the exterior door handle.

Got this installed in the door without issue, and it works perfectly. The door actually closes and latches easier now than it did with the original, broken latch that was replaced.

I had to replace the latch on one of my entry doors. This is a direct replacement for a Schlage door latch.

Ordered as a replacement for Delaney door latch and it was equivalent except for the plate has squares corners versus round corners (no big deal).

It did the job but is so cheaply built, it came bent and the face was squared, so I had to straighten and cut the edges to make it fit,
